Hi Sebastian and thanks for your reply.
Your test video seems to work, mine does not. (See link.)

I installed a clean version of Opera so there wouldn’t be any caching issues, and I used my real address. As you see, everything works fine down to me clicking the submit button. Then I get “This field is required”.
(I can add that I usually use Firefox or Chrome, and I have Edge installed too, I get the same result on all browsers. I installed Opera to be sure it wasn’t a caching issue with my computer.)
Any suggestions?
John

Thanks for your reply, Peter.
I think it may be the first issue. The lady has a googlemail.com address and a gmail.com address and she seems to be using both indiscriminately. They both feed to her same postbox and she doesn’t see a difference, but maybe WordPress and WordFence do.
I’ll come back when I have a definite answer.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Now invisible to Google AnalyticsHi Aert,
I’m sorry to report that running Complianz in safe mode for 48 hours had the same effect as running it fully activated. There’s a screengrab of MonsterInsights overview of the last 30 days here:
https://thesupercargo.com/complianz-problem/(It’s not a page that is linked anywhere and I’ll take it down again in a week.)
I’ve deactivated Complianz and I won’t continue to spend time on this now.
Thanks for your advice and for the plugin, which does at least confirm my success in making my website compliant.

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Now invisible to Google AnalyticsHi Aert,
I’ll take a look at your suggestion at the weekend.
Do I understand that I can have Complianz running in Safe Mode permanently? (I’m running it like that now for 24-48 hours to see what happens.)

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Now invisible to Google AnalyticsHi Aert,
Yes, what you write makes sense to me. Except that the problem arose when I installed and configured Complianz, so there must be some connection, no?
So, I’m using the Complianz Wizard with Complianz in Safe mode.
Under 2. Cookies > Statistics the Wizard says:
You use Monsterinsights, which means the answer to this question should be Google Analytics.I click Google Analytics and I get the following messages:
You have selected to anonymise IP addresses. This setting is now enabled in MonsterInsights.
You have selected you do not share data with third-party networks. Demographics is now disabled in MonsterInsights. Is it possible that having demographics disabled in MonsterInsights is what blocks Google Analytics from counting visitors?
Moving on with the Wizard, the Integrations page is straightforward. On the Used Cookies page. There’s a yellow box with:
Because your site uses third party cookies, the cookie blocker is now activated.
If you experience issues on the front end of your site due to blocked scripts, you can disable specific services or plugin integrations in the integrations section, or you can disable the cookie blocker entirely on the settings pageThere are only two cookies shown (and none deleted). The second cookie, “wordpress_logged_in*”, has a red cross against it and a popup that says The cookie has missing fields.
I don’t know what that means or how to correct it. I don’t know if it is relevant.
On the next page, Used services I have green checks against Google Analytics and WordPress, but Google Tag Manager has a red cross with a popup that says:
This service has missing fieldsAgain, I don’t know if it’s relevant or how to go about correcting it.
That’s it. Thank you for your help so far. I’m sorry to be a nuisance, but do you have any further suggestions?
John

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Now invisible to Google AnalyticsHi Aert,
It’s a little over a day since I deactivated Complianz and Google/Monsterinsights have recorded 11 visits since then. So to me it looks like it’s Complianz that is blocking the counting.
Questions:
The code in the screenshot. Is it only present when Complianz is active? (I’m unable to find it myself using Firefox Inspector)
If not, do I need to have Complianz active on the website all the time?
Can I perhaps switch it on once in a while to check nothing has changed, but otherwise have it turned off so it doesn’t interfere with Google?
Thanks,
John

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Now invisible to Google AnalyticsHi @aert,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, I’m using Analytics with Monsterinsights. I’ve run the Monsterinsights Wizard and everything seems OK there. The only little puzzle is that it’s telling me to clear a cache, but I can’t see what is caching. (I don’t have a cache plugin.) Possibly my web hotel has something I’m not aware of. I’ll drop them a line.
I’ve now disabled Complianz. I suppose it’ll take a day or two to see if that makes any difference.
But what I suspect is causing the problem are the changes I made to my Google account, recommended by your Wizard. Things like anonymizing IP strings (?) There were three or four actions I had to take. I would be happy to reverse these, even if it meant I’d have to have a cookie banner, to get back to seeing visitors.
Thanks again,
John
I installed the Health Check troubleshooter. (Excellent plug-in!) But it didn’t help. With the site using Twenty-Twenty as a theme and all the plug-ins disabled, I had exactly the same problem. Except that now I lose the possibility to return to visual editing even in images not inside the column block.
I took a screenshot/video of the issue and uploaded it to my YouTube acc. It’s private, but you can view it by following this link. 3mins 40, but you don’t need to view it all to see the problem.
