In the previous version there was a button called “EmptySpam.” When I clicked it they disappeared. Yes, I guess they were from comments. They never showed up as such and I never read them — just dumped them. A few sneaked through I guess — and became comments. It was all very confusing to me. What I miss is the box that showed the spam count and I think it was on the same page that should my best day. Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve seen that in 3.8 either. Were they on Site Stats?

Anyway, I can’t find anything in Posts about Spam.

I’m barely a sophomore at this WP stuff, but I did have some luck with plug ins. Duh, I just searched for them, picked one and told the monster to add plug-in. It worked. It took me quite awhile to figure out that I have a “dot.org” which means self-hosted which means GoDaddy does it. I have just started my trip in FTP land. Ah, a tutorial “without logical gaps.” I know what you mean. I really do. WP for Dummies is absolutely essential. I also find asking questions directly in Google, returns a lot of help. Techy types tend to avoid complete sentences and speak in Acronym, but it comes, really it comes over time. What do you mean by the “plug in tab?”

Well, thanks, everyone. Rev. Voodoo seems to have called it. I just forgot it for four or five days. It came back, I wonder if someone at the server refreshed something? Anyway, it works, so thanks again.

Yes, well, I read a few articles, found nothing except someone said, “Wait a little.”
I did and it fixed itself or some gremlin in the bowels of WordPress did. Maybe God refreshed it.

Yes, well, I’ll answer my own question. Resolved. I allowed pop-ups and it still did not work. Then I went to “Tools” and dragged this Press This to my bookmark bar. Voilà! The thing worked. I don’t know if it was the pop-up thing or the dragging from Tools, rather than from Writing, or both. This is called problem-solving by dicking around. Glad to have helped Thet 7200.

Thanks. I am convinced the problem was with 1,l and i,I only in sans serif Helvetica/Arial. Thanks for the i-less password. Do I have to change the issued password? Is it timed to self-destruct? I don’t want to mess with changing it now. SOMETHING will go wrong.

Belay my last. The thing worked! How or why not sure. Has to do with that horrid Dashboard. It doesn’t look the way it did on Monday. Hey, leave it alone for awhile. Give a novice a chance.

Well, I do get some response from Featured, but not from entering a specific theme. Thank you, before I was not clicking Install Themes, but
as I say, I still can only get featured themes.

Yes, and I managed to swap Motion for 1010, but I cannot bring up all those other nice choices like Wu Wei and a lot more. I also tried to search for those by name. They will not appear so I can preview and/o Activate.

Well, I may be too ignorant to master WordPress, but I did not like “Motion” so I thought I would try Vostok or just start all over. To search Themes, I clicked on Search Themes and nothing happened.They do not appear as they did when I activated Motion. I read somewhere in this forum that it might relate to the Network On/Off. (I don’t know if I am on a network or not). In any case I could not find the Network On/Off which is supposed to be in the grey bar, but it isn’t. I’m not sure I know what you mean by “Where are you going?” Crazy might answer that, but
I am trying to find an Appearance/Theme that will work for me.

“Shop the Choices” only meant “Search Themes.” I read that having the network function engaged can cause this, but my 3.1 doesn’t display the
Network function either.
