Same problem here (2.2.2). If I look in my maillog I can see e-mails beeing send to my mailserver .. if I send a mail direct with /usr/sbin/sendmail. But if I monitor the maillog when I register a new user .. nothing in the maillog. PHP.ini is configured to user /usr/sbin/sendmail…
Would someone please help???

If I ask WP to re-send me my ‘lost’ password I get a ‘not wp layed-out’ message stating:

The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…

How and where could I have disabled the “mail()” function and is this related to my registration problem (probably, but no message there…)

Ok, feel stupid.
I had activated the “Ajax Comment Posting” plugin. I have now deactivated it and my site works great again (also in Mickeysoft IE)…

I have just updated to wp-2.2.2 hoping this would solve my wp-comment-post.php not working problem… But is does not. I have activated and deactivated all plugins and changed to different themes but non of them work. This looks like a serieus problem in WP…
It would be verry nice if someone would come up with a real (working) sulution…
