Thank you very much for your reaction – I actually got support from ThriveThemes – but in the end it seems the update of the plugin to version 2.0.12 did the job – no other tweeks from thrive. Don’t know what it really was – but very happy I can use the FAQ’s again.
Just updated to 2.0.13 and it still works.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I guess (not sure yet … but with high probability … that the issue has a completly different cause – I just realized, that when runing a multilanguage site (I use WPML) the Categories have to be translated in all Languages …

If the language selector is on a language with no translation no categories are shown at all … which is logical!! I wasn’t aware of that and so I was shocked (categorized a lot of pictures ;-))- did overlook it could be the translation.

Will give you a hint if it wasn’t this – thanks alot.
