I guess I’m not sure but I thought they were comments. I have since deleted the offending material (and the hello world post that was attracting them).
I take it from that question, though, that WordPress does not just hide the form … that is, it actually validates the comment coming via POST ?
If I get more I will at that more carefully.
Thanks!

In reply to: Two templates permalinks for the same post (different "views")Wow – thank you so much for this detailed post. I’m going to be away for a few days so I won’t have time to test it until after the weekend. But it looks like you’ve solved my problem! I just need to implement it. And thank you for that advice.

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Upcoming Events Text is “clipped”interesting – have you tried disabling your other plugins ?
I would guess it has to do with javascript — it shows up fine on my blackberry.
I would try first disabling other plugins – if that doesn’t work, try the default wordpress theme … Maybe it has something to do with your stylesheet.

In reply to: Two plugins having issues when both activeI am not a javascripter — but usually it is a problem with one of the javascripts not playing nice with the other … what I usually hear, from the Event Calendar guys, is that it is most often the other plugin that isn’t handling the page load elements.
You could post on the event calendar mailing list — or just search the archive and look for plugin problems … this has happened with a lot of other plugins and usually it isn’t Event Calendar causing the issue.

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Upcoming Events Text is “clipped”Do you mean on the post titled “HHH” with the word “test” in the body ? I don’t see any missing letters … what browser are you using and can you send a screen shot of what exactly you see?

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Make Users Add/Edit EventsAre registered users able to add their own posts ? If they can add a post, they should be able to attach an event to the post … At least, as far as I know.
What version are you using? I remember there was a bug a while back with user rights but … I think it was fixed.

In reply to: Calendar for club members attending eventsHmm – that’s a good one … not sure, off the top of my head, how that could work. I use Event Calendar 3 … but it doesn’t have built ability for people to “check off” that they would be attending.
You may want to expiriment with a polling plugin, or maybe something that embeds a Google Calendar (which I think people can respond to if invited that they are coming or not).
Off hand, though, I am not sure.

In reply to: Using WP Calendar outside of WpIf you use the development version (3.2dev) of Event Calendar 3 I think there should be a pretty easy way to get the xml output from the caledar feed that you could could write a php script using curl to format the info.
However, I don’t think there is a ready-made option available yet.
Maybe someone will make one. Maybe I would if I wasn’t so lazy!

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] ‘Editor’ can’t set datesIs interesting the problem only exists on Vista … I don’t have XP or Vista so I can’t confirm it … but that is wierd.

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] ‘Editor’ can’t set datesIt shouldn’t have anything to do with Windows Vista – however, this should have been fixed by version 3.1.4. It was a problem in 3.1.2:

I just tested it myself and I don’t have any problem adding events as an “editor” … Have you tried to do this with “author” as well ?

In reply to: Sort post when using Event CalendarI think you should be able to use this link to do what you are trying to do (I think):
https://voorbeeld1.coordinaat.com/?ec3_after=today&order=dsc
However, when I tested it on your site, I kept having problems with the December date. I use this format on a couple of my sites with no problems … check out:

In reply to: Looking for an interactive Event Calendar pluginI don’t know of a plugin that has the same functionality, exactly, as you indicated — however, you may be able to allow users to register on your site (with limited privileges) and post events which would be reviewed before you permitted them to be published.
You could probably do this using the Event Calendar 3 … but it certainly wouldn’t be like what you showed us in the link.

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Tag cloud doesn’t worksLex – yea, I noticed it is missing as a trac component … honestly, I tried to figure out how to do that on Trac because we recently moved to the wp-plugins.org hosting … and no one (myself included), yet, has figured out how to add it as a component or assign tickets.
You would think it would be easy but I can’t find any documentation on it …
I had posted the question here for guidance but haven’t gotten any yet.

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Tag cloud doesn’t worksI changed it as you suggested:

Hopefully the ticket problem gets sorted out. Thanks again!

In reply to: [Plugin: Event Calendar 3] Tag cloud doesn’t worksLex – hmm, I am not sure why you couldn’t submit the ticket …
You are right, on previous versions it would throw an error — I saw you had done that with the patch you provided … if you can’t get the svn here to work I can add that function check if you think it should be there.
