It worked great for duplicating the main parts of the post, but my setup happens to make extensive use of custom fields, and those weren’t duplicated. So I’d love to see those included in a future release. Thanks in advance!

Happy ending: I figured out how to install phpmyadmin and emptied the comments table.

It looks like CG-AntiSpam would work well in a similar situation with hundreds of comments, but since I had 45K comments I went with phpmyadmin.

If the developers are listening, I suggest making the moderation screen layout resemble the comments screen so in case there are thousands of comments there it only displays the first X number of comments, avoiding a page that’s too big.

Yes, I’m all backed up. At pair.com that’s a one-click operation.

There’s only a few genuine comments, nothing I don’t mind deleting, so any operation could delete all comments and I’d be happy with that.

I actually “just upgraded” – I’ve been using WP for about a year. I didn’t use comments before, so never noticed the spam building up.

Update: I also tried Spam Karma but that doesn’t deal with comments in moderation.

Besides chmod’ing my images folder to 777, I also removed some spaces that WP seemed to be adding to my directory path in the Options screen.

I just did this last night and was surprised at how easy it was.
First, I backed up my wordpress folder and my destination folder. I didn’t need to but it made me feel good.
I moved all the contents of the wordpress folder into the destination folder.
I changed the WordPress address and Blog address in Admin:Options:General.
In my option I just moved my old index.shtml file and the wordpress index.php became the default file. But if you need it to be called Home then the .htaccess file should take care of the redirecting for you.
