Thank you for the fix, Bonaldi.
Biranit,
Oh that’s great – thanks for the information.
Are we sure that commenting out these two lines does not affect the plugins functionality in any way?
It would seem so, Biranit. Hopefully the author will be able to find out what and update it, cause I would really like to use this plugin.

In reply to: Permissions needed for “upgrade automatically” to work?By the way, setting 766 on one of my plugins, makes it disappear from wordpress “plugin” page completely, as if it doesn’t exist.

In reply to: Permissions needed for “upgrade automatically” to work?I didn’t get a chance to try out 766 – I decided to wipe it all and reinstall the WordPress package from the VPS control panel. It turns out that the owner of everything was not “www-data” as it is when it’s created by the server (I’m logging in at FTP with a different name).
After reinstalling it all, WordPress will both “add new” and “upgrade automatically” (when the right permissions are set, 766) without FTP connection information.
Hope this helps somebody else.

In reply to: [plugin BUG google-analytics-for-wordpress ] Error massage with Version 3.0Count me in too!
I found this thread when googling the error.
Should we downgrade or wait for a fix?
As long as stats are still being gathered, I can live without the ability to “view” them for a few days.

In reply to: Permalinks: Having only subcategory as ?tegory% ?Update. I’ve learned that categories and tags cannot “share name”, so it was actually the slug that was the problem, it was not %category/%subcategory%-%category%/%postname% but %category%/%subcategory slug%/%postname% … and the slug of my subcategory got the category attached to the end, if it’s slug was already used by a tag.
And since I had a tag slug named “sony-ericsson”, it would then add “-mobiles” to the end.
I resolved it by removing the “Sony Ericsson” tag and hence the “sony-ericsson” slug. Then I could rename my slug from “sony-ericsson-mobiles” to “sony-ericsson”, making my URL be /2009/mobiles/sony-ericsson/%postname% instead.
That’s good enough for me. Now I just have to stop using tags.
