    Information

AMP does not allow the use of JS <script> tags unless they are for loading AMP components, which are added automatically by the AMP plugin. For any page to be served as AMP, all invalid script tags must be removed from the page. Instead of custom or third-party JS, please consider using AMP components and functionality such as amp-bind and actions and events (as opposed to JS event handler attributes like onclick). Some custom JS can be added if encapsulated in the amp-script. Learn more about how AMP works.

If all invalid markup is “removed” the page will be served as AMP. However, the impact that the removal has on the page must be assessed to determine if the result is acceptable. If any invalid markup is “kept” then the page will not be served as AMP.Error codeDISALLOWED_TAGInvalid markup<script … >Element attributes

    We found the issue.

Use of the Ezoic plugin results in the error. When the Ezoic plugin is disabled AMP works with no error.

Our workaround is to turn off Ezoic plugin when working to check AMP on posts. We have opened a case with Ezoic.

    Thanks for your response.

    Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for reaching back. First let me say your Hueman Theme is awesome. With it I’ve boosted by readership and followers tremendously. It’s easy to work with and customize to my vision of a magazine themed blog. Its darn near perfect. I upgraded to premium with no hesitation.

Which brings me to WCAG. I’m an IT manager supporting IT marketing for a large company based in Detroit. I’m also heading up a working group to address Web Accessibility issues. Over the last several months WCAG has been one of my major focuses. I’m a WP blogger on the side. Hueman is not perfect, but it can quickly be a leading Accessibility contender for WordPress in short order.

Just by running the Google Chrome Lighthouse app in the Developer Tools of a browser can reveal opportunities. Most reside in the header and sidebars of the Hueman Theme.

To see the results in Chrome go to:

More Tools >> Developer Tools >> Audits >> Accessibility

Run it against a Hueman theme page and post and target for a score of 90 or better. It may not get you to the goal of WCAG 2.1 AA but it’s darn close.

<Alt> labels, link nomenclature and field labels are the easiest to solve. Hopefully you and your team can chip away at it.

    Thanks for listening.

Keeping this question alive. It’s now a legal concern for bloggers. https://thumbwind.com/2019/03/29/web-content-accessibility-guidelines-wcag/

Wow..no response. TIL that WordPress has listed over 100 themes that are Accessibility ready. Hueman is not one of them. What is the plan?

UPDATE: Yeah I bailed on this issue and stuck with the “classic” mode for now. It looks like AMP Plugin does not play well with Hueman Theme if you change to Paired or Native.

Not sure of where to find the PHP (or any) error logs on a premium wordpress.com account.
