I tried this again with the wordpress theme with the Complianz plugin enabled. Everything runs perfectly now even with the placeholders. However, I had to set this in the Complianz cookie settings so that the CCS handling is taken over by the (wordpress) theme.

Then I tried to move the widet to my left sidebar, within this sidebar the widget works without any problem.
