In reply to: [Widgets on Pages] Gutenberg ready?Todd,
Thanks for the reply.
Your comments encourage me to give the plugin a go with WP5+ site I’m building. Why not use all new stuff?
And I promise not to bother you if things don’t work out.
Let the (non-) buyer beware.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP phpMyAdmin] Cannot activateYes. PHP 5.2 is on the site. Plugin works as expected on sites with newer PHP.
I knew it had to be something I did or didn’t do.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Sermon Browser] shortcodes not workingYes, resetting the template to default solved my shortcode display problem.
Note to self: the creator always knows how to solve our problems. What drives us mad is trivial to him.
Thanks for a great plugin which is crucial to many online ministries.

In reply to: [Sermon Browser] shortcodes not workingUpdate didn’t correct my development site error.
Shortcodes still broken; audio player displays but does not play.https://x.gracebaptistwestmilton.com/sermons/
I’ll try the updated version on a new dev site install.

In reply to: [Sermon Browser] shortcodes not workingI was able to get past the shortcode problem; and now the audio won’t play.
After deactivating all plugins and activating SB first it looked like it would work.In desperation I setup an all-new development site with clean installs of WP and SB and 27 test sermons. All works as expected, even on mobile devices.
I conclude that something put garbage into the WP settings, and I’ll have to nuke it and start over. Hopefully the SB table backups will work. I’ll import them to the development site before nuking the main one.
Misery does love company. Sorry to hear you’re in the same boat.

In reply to: Migrate WordPress to another server@acimovic
I followed these instructions, and the migration to a new server ‘almost’ worked.What this doesn’t say, is that BEFORE you do anything else, copy and save all of your text widget content. Then remove all of those text widgets. If you don’t do this, you risk the infamous ‘Error in Array … in widget.php’ which will lock you out of the new Admin. I learned this the hard way.
Follow the instructions for migration–it’s a bit more complicated than just exporting/importing your database.
After your new site is operational, reinstall the text widgets with the information you saved from the old site.
With the additional text widget step, this procedure works for me and WP2.6.1.

In reply to: Image placement problemsI’m sure you’ve already noticed, but the margin for img.right should be like this:
margin: 0 0px 3px 14px;

In reply to: about…Depending on the theme that you are using, this might be as simple as MANAGEing a Page, or as complicated as DESIGN, Theme Editor and modifying an about.php file. Many themes have ABOUT as a Page.

In reply to: What time is it?Settings, General, Timezone.
Below the input box you should see the reference time that you require.
(For example: currently Athens is UTC+3 according to WordPress, but it is GMT+2 according to Microsoft.)Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Image placement problemsI found that image alignment and text wrapping worked perfectly in the Default theme, but that some things didn’t work well with several non-stock themes.
Adding this to my CSS solved my alignment and text wrap problems with the themes. (Credit to SADISH, designer of MistyLook and FallSeason themes).
img.left, .alignleft { float: left; margin: 0 14px 3px 0; } img.right, .alignright { float: right; margin: 0 14px 3px 0; } img.centered, .centered { text-align: center; }
Maybe you have a theme problem, and not a WP problem.

In reply to: WP 2.5 Post SlugsUpgrading to PHP 5.x on my 1and1 hosted installations has solved the Page slug problem for me.
And, yes, you must save the edited slug AND the Page.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: WP 2.5 Post Slugs@link2caro, thanks for pointing out this problem originally, and for following up here and on the tracker.

In reply to: WP 2.5 Post Slugs@otto42: The .htaccess file is in place, as you suggested; but there is no change in behavior.

In reply to: Page Stubs in 2.5RC1?The page slug editable field should appear after you enter the page title and then move into the body of the page.
For some, the editable field does not appear until after you actually publish the page, then manage/edit the page and the page slug field will appear for sure. (This is not how it’s supposed to work; but it works this way for some.)
