In reply to: Changed Site URL and Address And Cant Log inOne of the methods outlined on this codex page should help you.
P.S. I just checked a site on a Multisite install where the Network Admin is still running WordPress 3.6, and the Post List still works on the Options/Settings page for the plugin there.

In reply to: Search results issuesThis is the same problem I’m having since upgrading to WordPress 3.5.2 (possibly since all the 3.5.* versions, but definitely since 3.5.2) on multiple sites hosted on different hosts/servers. The boolean search within doublequotes no longer works in either the backend or from the front page, and crucially it means that half the names and/or tell-phrases that I have in my moderation filters no longer work at all, which is a particularly retrograde step in managing various malfeasants in the commentariats.

In reply to: Leave a Reply Box be gone! That setting can be overridden on individual posts/pages, so posts and pages that were already published before you made that admin change will still allow comments.
you’ll need to change the “allow comments” on those individually. You can do this on the Edit Posts screen using the Quick Edit feature to edit them all as a batch.

In reply to: Sick of wordpressI’ve added a few tags to make it easier for others to see what this issue is about.
I suspect the problem is that you have so heavily modified the Pilcrow theme that you have inadvertently deleted some crucial code, so your site is stuck in a loop while the database looks for something that you’ve deleted.
Revert to the default Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven theme and see if it loads much faster.

In reply to: Placing search bar on top right corner?esmi was quite right to remind you to set up all these changes in a child theme. I should have made sure to mention that too.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Advice on choosing a template please.Any portfolio theme can be customised to use vector-based images, you just have to create the vector images you want. So you don’t need to look for a theme that already incorporates vector images.
If you don’t want a full width slider for your front page, then don’t look at themes with full width sliders. Find a theme with a more modest slider/portfolio system and then create the vector artwork you want (or hire somebody else to do it).

In reply to: Placing search bar on top right corner? Here’s a tutorial for adding a search-box to the nav menu in Twenty Ten. You can probably figure out where to modify the code to have the search-box sit above the banner image instead.

Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: Website as wordpressOnce you have wordpress installed, you can create posts and pages using basic xhtml markup for formatting paragraphs/lists etc. WordPress will act as the CMS – content management system – to keep those pages linked within the MySQL/PHP database, so overall it’s a bit more complicated than just HTML, but you’ll really not need to bother with that unless you really enjoy tinkering.
The CSS will all be handled from a single “theme” template which will control the appearance of the whole site.

Presumably the employee set it up using his work email account – you may have to reactivate that so that you can reset the password.

In reply to: Help!!!Yes, that’s why you’ll need to remove the plugin via FTP i.e. using your webhost’s control panel or an FTP program to access the files directly on the server.
You were just told “No Bumping” when you did it 20 hours ago – you really should stop this.
What you are suggesting is going to take some serious modification of functions.php and a custom page template to achieve. The sort of serious modifications that someone is most likely going to want to be paid for the time spent creating and testing the custom feature.
I suggest you start looking for freelancers.

In reply to: Help!!!You’ll need to remove the faulty plugin (facebook-share-for-wp-e-commerce) via FTP – then it should revert to how the site was before.
