I have exactly the same problems. I can’t update the Newsletter – WP Users Integration and the Newsletter – Event Plugins Integration on two sites that I run. In both cases I get the message that the update is not available.
I currently have Newsletter – Event Plugins Integration version 1.0.2 and Newsletter – WP Users Integration 1.1.4.

Thanks for the quick reply. Strange, that login widget has always been there and never caused problems. I’d like to keep it there. Any suggestions on how I can resize it?

I removed all the plug-ins, but still nothing showed up. Annoying thing is, after reinstalling the plug-ins Jetpack stopped working. Sigh…

I’ve checked: Feature posts on top of your blog
Under: ‘Select a category to feature’ I left ‘Choose one’ because I want the block to display my latest posts
Featured Post Count = 4
And I checked ‘Animate your Featured Posts…’
