In reply to: [Sheets2Table] make sortableYou can do this by using the Foo Tables plugin: https://dev.tonyhetrick.com/sheets2table-help-responsive-table-using-footable/
Thanks csonnek.
I’ve had some problems with updating Jetpack recently (keeps telling me it can’t remove the old version) so I went ahead and deleted the whole thing to start from scratch.
Publicize has now re-appeared!
Not sure if that helps solve the mystery but it seems to be working fine.
Thanks for the swift response.
Tim.

In reply to: [PayPal Responder] Fatal Error when activating pluginWonderful, thanks so much for this Maeve, particularly as it was a problem at my end and not yours.
Enabling CURL on my server fixed it. Assuming the free version works as I hope then I’ll be buying Pro version shortly.
Thanks again,

In reply to: Huge wp_postmeta on very small siteThanks for the swift response kmessinger.
It’s actually for a different site – https://www.lloydfiggins.com – but it’s also commercial. Unfortunately, it’s no longer supported and the author doesn’t respond to emails.
I quite understand the dichotomy between commercial and community support, and I’m sorry if my post was inappropriate. However, would you mind if I just asked these two general questions:
1. Is it feasible/likely that my theme is causing the problem? (It sounds like that’s probably the problem)
2. If I change themes then re-optimize my databases, is that likely to shrink my database to a normal size and solve all my problems? Or is it not that simple?
Many thanks,
Tim.Jeremy, thank you so much. All the messages are indeed sitting under the Feedback tab.
Now I just to have to go and be extra nice to all those people who haven’t had a reply in three months!
Many thanks,
Tim.Very helpful thread, thank you to Jeremy in particular.
I’ve fixed my contact form as a result but there were three months when it wasn’t working without my realising.
Are there any places that I could check for the missing messages?
They’re not in my email provider’s Spam and I can’t see *any* messages in my Comments Spam (so may be looking in the wrong place).
Is there anywhere such messages may have been stored?
Many thanks,

In reply to: Unsupported theme no longer has 'Save Changes' buttonHi Archimedia, thanks for the message but unfortunately I’ve not had anything yet.
Please do message the author if you haven’t done already.
If there’s one specific thing you’re trying to change at the moment then I might be able to help with a work-around?

In reply to: Unsupported theme no longer has 'Save Changes' buttonAh, I hadn’t realised there was a divide.
I’ve contacted Envato but they say to contact the author (who doesn’t seem to be replying to messages.
I was just hoping there might be a workaround.
Thanks anyway.
Tim.

I know I’m not the only one effected.
Please do let me know if there’s somewhere better this post could be directed.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Home page issue – not updatingOh dear, I’ve just seen a check box under the Page Cache tab that says: “Don’t cache the front page”. Lazy on my part, sorry.
Will have to wait for my next new article to confirm this solves the problem but perhaps this will work for you too oneruffryder?

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Home page issue – not updatingHello
I am having a similar problem with my home page at https://www.thenextchallenge.org
I switched the homepage from Blog (which never had any problems) to Static Page but still display the latest blog posts on the page using a feature of my theme.
I currently have to manually clear the page’s cache every time there’s a new post otherwise it doesn’t show up to non-admin.
(Interestingly, the Category pages also don’t show the latest blog posts but some apparently arbitrarily selected post from recent history).
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you,
Tim.Hi Noidarocker,
I didn’t find a solution to this I’m afraid. I just compiled a list of the missing file names, searched for them on my hard drive (luckily I still had them all) then re-uploaded them.
It was time consuming and quite painful, and I keep finding extra pages with missing images.
Best of luck resurrecting your photos.
Tim.

In reply to: [Custom Contact Forms] [Plugin: Custom Contact Forms] throws errors on 3.3Hello,
I have a similar error on my website: https://www.thenextchallenge.org
I get the following text at the bottom of every page:
Warning: Unknown: open(/var/chroot/home/content/72/3464272/tmp/sess_6c1qp4khsq5pd8ms36f68j1d87, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct () in Unknown on line 0
I also get an error message on my RSS feed (https://thenextchallenge.org/feed) which reads:
error on line 538 at column 60: Extra content at the end of the document
It disappears when I deactivate the plugin. I’ve tried deleting and re-installing but there’s no change.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. If I can’t work it out then I’ll use another contact form plugin but it would be a shame to have to re-format all the forms!
Many thanks,
Tim.
