  • Can anyone help with this question? I find this question a lot when searching, but no answer anywhere.
    Please?
    Thanks

    Hey guys,
    I’m using www.ads-software.com and attempting to fight spam, but all the plug ins also ask for an API key which I can find nothing about.
    Thanks for any help,
    Tim

    Me too, I’m still searching for this one. Very difficult to get an answer for Word Press Problems. I noticed it’s been 3 weeks and no reply.
    Guess I’ll keep looking, please post back if you got an answer somewhere else.

    How about someone creating a place where beginners can get help with WordPress? I’ve posted numerous times with no answers, when all I’m trying to do is upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5.1. Installed plug in and immediately start with errors:

    Warning: ftp_chdir() [function.ftp-chdir]: //public/wp-admin: No such file or directory in /f1/content/gazetotheright/public/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 205

    Warning: ftp_chdir() [function.ftp-chdir]: //public/wp-includes: No such file or directory in /f1/content/gazetotheright/public/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 205

    I went ahead and ignored them and completed the process then was told it didn’t work. Hopefully, it’s not real important to upgrade as I’ve not been able to accomplish it in weeks. There must be an easier way.
    Any idea what these errors represent? Or how to correct them and proceed?

    Many thanks

    Why is is so difficult to get help here? I’m trying to upgrade as requested, but get the following errors in the first step of the Auto Upgrade Plug In…

    I’m stuck and do not understand what to do next. Can someone tell me a good place to get help or advise as to what this means?

    Warning: ftp_chdir() [function.ftp-chdir]: //public/wp-admin: No such file or directory in /f1/content/gazetotheright/public/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 205

    I’m very reluctant to upgraded to 2.5 as I search these forums. Did you ever resolve your problem? There seems to be many unresolved posts asking for help with no resolution. I don’t want to mess up my blog and not be able to get help. Seems odd.

    I was hoping to hear back from lujza as to how she did. It doesn’t sound easy to me either, and I’m afraid I might mess up my blog as I have done before. I’ve never been able to accomplish doing a back-up yet. This stuff is very complicated to me. I’m using Ambient Glo, would that matter since it is not a default template? Also, my upload directory has never worked either, but I just gave up and started uploading my files to another server and linking to them in the blog.

    I have the same problem with or without using a plug in. I’m curious as to why all these questions remain unanswered for 4 to 8 months? I’ve been searching and reading for weeks and am reading the same stuff over and over and still can’t view my ads. At least I’m being patient. Is there another place we can get help with WordPress?
    Thanks

    Where or how do we implement AdSense placeholders? I’ve searched and keep coming back to these posts. My ads show up rarely, on occasion. I used the <div align=”center”>[adblock]</div> tag, but didn’t seem to make any difference. My sidebar ad shows up on every page, but the Page ads are random.
    Thanks

    I’m a little confused over what this other index.php file is also, and what my capabilities might be with it. In my /public directory, I have the WordPress folder and an Index.php file with the contents:
    <?php
    /* Short and sweet */
    define(‘WP_USE_THEMES’, true);
    require(‘./wordpress/wp-blog-header.php’);
    ?>

    Then I open the wordpress directory to find another index.php file with:

    <?php
    /* Short and sweet */
    define(‘WP_USE_THEMES’, true);
    require(‘./wp-blog-header.php’);
    ?>

    In it. Are these both being used? I was mainly wondering because I thought I would be able to point a subdomain to the directory or index file before the wordpress directory. Does that make sense?

    Along those same lines, it seems there must be a way for some people to disable your BACK button. I often get engrossed in a web site, click on a link without thinking and it opens in the same window, then I can’t go back. Very frustrating.

    And there is nothing on that page.

    Well, after experimenting some, it seems to show up sometimes and not others… also, it seems to only show up one ad per page. If I try to add two banners to a post, one of them doesn’t show, does this sound normal?
    Thanks

    Is there some kind of script we need to use when pasting into the post editing mode, or page edit mode? I copy & paste the AdSense code into WP 2.3.3 and they show up in the sidebars, but not in the body, page or post.

    Thanks

    Well, I guess some of the experts around here get a kick out of watching us panic, then figure it out while waiting on an answer ??
    I finally just tried changing all the file permissions to allow on all three levels, which surely can’t be a good idea, but it worked… what a relief.
