Didn’t work for me, no sign on recaptcha at all on my login and registration pages.
Also, Wordfence 2 factor authentication will enable and is setup, but doesn’t attempt to login into admin account (no page loading happens) when authy app code is entered. Nor do any of the 5 backup codes.

In reply to: 404 error for wp-login.phpI think I know how to disable plugins (by renaming their folder names on the web server), but I don’t see what you’re doing with the .htaccess file.

In reply to: How to log in after removing login shortcode from login page?Link in first reply was a good solution.
So to be absolutely clear, where are my WP settings being stored if I use premium option to encrypt my database with my choice of key?
Lastly, does this only apply to the database, or also plugins/files/themes that are normally part of a complete backup?

In reply to: Login doesn’t work when in Maintenance mode@sterndata Removing the offending plugin has worked! Thankyou for all your time & effort. My site is back up and running, now I just need to reinstall the plugin.

In reply to: Login doesn’t work when in Maintenance mode@nirmannarang I followed your instructions, including the wpe6_users alternative. MySQL said I have an error in the syntax and to check the manual that corresponds to my MySQL version for the right syntax.
Both lines in editor have a red blob with an ‘x’, and red lines underneath them up to and including ‘MD5’ and on the 2nd line ‘quot’ just before the end.

In reply to: Login doesn’t work when in Maintenance mode@sterndata I can’t clearly remember, it may have been a Despacho ‘Your Inspiration Themes’ plugin. It may be another plugin related to security/maintenance tasks (perhaps 3rd party). I can’t get into admin to double check so I can’t be any more precise!
@nirmannarang It’s locking me out as if I’m not an admin level user, therefore changing the credentials isn’t necessarily going to grant me access.
The checkbox clearly said it would block site access, and display a ‘try again later message’ to anyone who didn’t have an admin role. I get that message every time I login with what I’ve always believed to be admin credentials.

In reply to: WP Admin inaccessible after theme update@themesgrove Ok, I can get back in now. However, I enabled maintenance mode while I worked on the site so only admin users could get onto it. When I try to login I get the ‘under maintenance mode, please try again later’ message. I assumed the only login I’ve ever used had administrator rights, but it appears not to and I can’t get logged in anymore!

In reply to: WP Admin inaccessible after theme updateI’m sharing 1 dropbox folder, I’m not giving him access to my own website!

In reply to: WP Admin inaccessible after theme updateI can’t get into WordPress admin to change the theme! I’ve deleted it in my FTP client, and it makes no difference (unsurprisingly). I’ve added the error codes at this URL:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d6ur7m2osr13neg/AADJmMd2SkW7XJ74DQcS6fYva?dl=0
I don’t know how you’re going to get access, as I don’t know your email address to add it.
