I′m sorry to tell you that there is not a beginner guide.

Perfect WooCommerce Brands respects totally “the WordPress/WooCommerce way”, so if you are acquainted with WordPress and WooCommerce you will be acquainted with the PWB basics too.

WordPress has some default image sizes, each uploaded image generates automatic resizes. Is possible to add custom image sizes too. Use the correct image sizes in each case may be important for the page load speed and the design.

Keep in mind that PWB is a fully free plugin without premium support and no warranties (but awesome of course), so maybe is not the best brands plugin option for some WooCommerce beginners.
