I was able to restore security on wp-config to before upgrade and it works again. Thank you all for your help, and until a fix is found I may need help in future with next update.

my host cant restore for whatever reason

“Did you try and turn off all plugins except the classic editor plugin? please try”

I tried this, i turned off every single plugin except classic editor and it made no difference.

I also went into my domain and reverted security to pre-upgrade date and that made no difference.

Error I see in developer mode is below:

This did not resolve my issue, i still cannot utilized “Visual” editor. everything else works. I can see the visual button, but when i click it nothing happens.

i take it you mean advanced custom fields (ACF)? No I am not running that.

My boss requested that i update our word press to WP 5.0, which i did and immediately had problems. I read the forums and have installed the classic editor, and the classic editor add-on as well as the “Disable Gutenberg” Block Editor that restores the Classic Editor and original Edit Post screen. I have followed the directions from the forum and i can use the classic editor but only in text mode, the visual mode does not work and that is what i need the most. Please help.

Sure thing. Code is below. I changed the search parameter in both shortcodes to s=”” per your request. I have only 6 pdf’s listed and uploaded via media upload. These are for test purposes. Soon I will have about 600. The admin has decided not to list all orders. He just wants to offer the search box that only searches the pdfs uploaded to gallery. The results should be listed below search box so user can choose from there. I hope that helps.

I have made the adjustments as you suggested, however, when i put in a term to search box, nothing happens yet. I want it to search the gallery (pdf’s) and have the search list its findings just like a normal search would. what am i missing?
