Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: comments disappearedIt took me a while, but I figured out that my problem was the old Adsense Manager plugin, which had required some code to be inserted on my single post template. When I removed that plugin (because they renamed it for 2.8 and it failed to install), the old code was an orphan and it was screwing up whatever appeared after—in this case the comments. I removed that one line from the Single Post template and all better.

In reply to: Pages and archives pulling up 404s!I just ran into the same problem after a failed upgrade to 2.8 and a lengthy restore of 2.7.1 (grrrr…)
Can you shed some light on what this means?
“chmod to 666”I can see all my posts in admin and they all show up in a search, but they’re not visible.

In reply to: Post Preview not WorkingFor me it was a mismatch in the WordPress address and blog address. Once I made them the same (removing the www from one of them), the preview suddenly worked like it was supposed to. Yea!

In reply to: Sudden inexplicable login failureMy problem is apparently like a stiff neck. It just went away on its own after a few days. I didn’t change anything. Very strange as it was happening from any computer I tried to log on with, so not a cookie or cache issue.

In reply to: Sudden inexplicable login failureSame here, with September 25 being my last post before the redirect loop started. This is looking to be a trend.
Not sure what version I’m on, but I think 2.6–upgraded not too long ago.

In reply to: Redirect LoopI’m just now having this problem too, and only for one WordPress blog:
https://luxurylatinamerica.com/blog/
Worked fine last week, now can’t log in to the admin panel. Have tried deleting cookies, clearing cache, etc. None of the support forums seem to know how to solve this. Really annoying. I like using WordPress, but something like this seems to me happen every month or two, not to mention all the upgrade work that’s required to keep the architecture current.

In reply to: Can’t log in to my adminI’ve got the same problem, with a blog where nothing has changed and I posted to it fine last week. Now I can’t log in to post or do anything!
Like the others, get the redirect error message in Firefox, while nothing happens in any version of IE–it just gets stuck. Help!
