    Thanks Andrea,

Knowing that WordPress supported what I was trying to achieve, and also that my mapping was OK helped me track down my mistake.

I read further, my DB was OK so I looked on.

I unchecked this option, no idea what it is, but I can now access my admin pages.

Redirect administration pages to site's original domain (remote login disabled if this redirect is disabled)

Thank you, hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

    Thanks Andrea,

You are correct, the Root1 domains are parked under parked domains, Root_2 is a folder with addon TLS’s domains mapped to it.

It looks like I have done this correctly, and from your comments WordPress should accommodate this.
I have almost certainly an error in my setup or config.
Everything works except wp-admin, I guess I may have to seek out a reliable support partner.

    Any recommendations?

    Hi Andrea,

It looks like I had not installed the plugin correctly.

I installed the plugin through the Install panel, moved the sunrise file to wp-content etc.
What was missing in the tutorials I read was the need not only to create the mu-plugins folder, but I had to move domain_mapping.php into that folder.

Once I had completed this step, the plugin started behaving.

Thank goodness I have this working now.

    Many thanks

2 Permanent redirect (better for your blogger’s pagerank)
    3 User domain mapping page
4 Redirect administration pages to site’s original domain (remote login disabled if this redirect is disabled)

The only extra info that I can give:

WordPress MU Domain Mapping Version 0.5.3
Shared Hosting with Rochen – cPanel

I have read great things about the MU development by Donncha.
My thinking was I have not configured correctly because I haven’t read about the problem in my research into the issue.
The thing is I can access my mapped domains home correctly, then I must browse in the subdomain format if I browse the site, very strange indeed.

The thing that makes it worse is I do not fully understand the technology behind Multisites, so I canot resolve it myself.

    Thank you.
