In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] How to lose customers….in one easy lessonIf a small fee to get an even better solution is too much to ask of you, then let me be the first to thank you for not purchasing my premium product. I don’t want people who believe they should get something for nothing to be customers of mine.
Anyone who uses the free plugin is not a customer, they haven’t paid for anything, and I have no obligation to support them, even though I did for free for 2 years.
If you never bought anything from me, and you know how good my product is but still won’t buy from me, then I haven’t lost anything. I have however, avoided doing business with someone who expects something for nothing, and would probably do nothing but bitch and complain enough to make my life miserable no matter what I did. With that let me thank you again for sparing me what would be a bad experience dealing with a non-customer like you.
I like the people I do business with, and provide the best service I can, but someone like you would leave me drained, since you would obviously never be happy.

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] Feel like I got a bait and switchThere was no bait and switch. www.ads-software.com required I make changes to the plugin thanks to another developer. It was either make the changes or not have Spam Free WordPress available at all. Didn’t you notice Spam Free WordPress had no downloads for about a month on the stats chart? That was because the plugin was disabled from public view until I changed it.
I am offering a much better alternative called Simple Comments. If you decide not to upgrade, it is your loss. I’ve done what I can to make a better alternative available.

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] It was good… but not anymoreSpam Free WordPress uses much weaker spam protection than Simple Comments. If you need something stronger then upgrade to Simple Comments. Currently there is a 3 day free trial for Simple Comments.
Spammers are constantly changing their approach, which is why comment spam has more than doubled in the past year, and spam protection has become a full-time effort that only a commercial plugin can provide.

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] Upgraded 2.2.1 now get tons of spam commentsThe free Spam Free WordPress plugin was scaled back when it was replaced by Simple Comments. Some spam bots can get past the spam blocking found in Spam Free WordPress, because it is much weaker than the spam blocking in Simple Comments.
I would suggest upgrading to Simple Comments, which offers a free trial so you can make sure it works before buying it.

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] Worked well until 1.9.3The spam blocking approach used in Spam Free WordPress is completely different than what is used in Simple Comments, which is why you should upgrade to Simple Comments. Until midnight tonight you can use coupon code sfwpjul to get 20% off the purchase price.

In reply to: How can I Block Spam Comments on WordPress Sites?Simple Comments is the paid replacement for Spam Free WordPress. It pays to do your research.
It seems like no one can find a solution to effectively block spam, not even with Akismet, but after 460,000 downloads I can safely say Simple Comments is the ONE plugin that will solve your spam problems all by itself.

In reply to: [Spam Free WordPress] Anti spam? More like ransomwareVersion 2.1 was broken due to an error I made, which you were using. The error was fixed several days ago. Did you really have to register this user ID on www.ads-software.com just to bash the plugin after I helped you remove it?
The fixed version was reviewed by www.ads-software.com, and approved, so what is there to beware of?
I made one mistake in two years, and 460,000+ downloads. Beware, the developer isn’t perfect.

You are free to refuse my help if you wish, for whatever reasons you come up with, but there is no reason for you to continue flaming me on the forum if you aren’t asking for support.
