Thanks for that, I’ve downloaded the Sitetree plugin. I’ve had to create a sitemap page and then add it to that page. Ideally I don’t want the sitemap in my main menu. Is there anyway I can move that page from the menu to the footer or sidebar? I’m using the Twenty Ten theme

Yes it has header.php. I am new to HTML (and websites in general) but it sounds pretty simple from reading the “Codex Meta Tags in WordPress” page.

Am I right in thinking that I just need to add the <meta name=”decription content=”blah blah blah”/> to the header.php and then the description which I have input will appear in the search engine results under my site name?

Hi, thanks for the replies.

Now I’m confused. Yesterday when the account status was saying “Tracking not installed” I deleted the code from the site. Now when I logged into Analytics tonight the status had changed to “receiving data”. How is that possible if I deleted the code? I’ve now pasted the code into the footer.php but I’m not sure whether to believe if its working or not.
I think I’ll leave the code in the site ans check again tomorrow to see what the stats show
