Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Previous Posts ProblemsIf you mean from my admin screen, can you read that I cannot get there? https://www.ronkainen.org/blog takes me to a 404 automatically: https://www.ronkainen.org/blog/blog. I do not know why it is appending the final ‘blog’ to the end. Thanks anyway. No need to be rude.

In reply to: Previous Posts ProblemsSorry – this it is now updated. Even when I enter https://www.ronkainen.org/blog, the extra ‘blog’ is added to the URL.

In reply to: Previous Posts ProblemsI am having the same problem when, after transferring all of my WP 2.3 files over and going to the upgrade page, the end result is a blog/blog scenario in the URL. I’ve never had this problem in previous upgrades. Thought it might be in one of the index.php files, but that seemed to be a dead end. Help? Thanks!
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: The page cannot be displayed. when running install.phpI have tried everything under the sun to get install.php to run with no success. I’ve installed WP before and remember having some difficulty, but this is a matter of the file being in the right place, but the browser does not recognize it. I am out of ideas. ronkainen.org/blog/wp-admin/install.php
Using GoDaddy hosting, db is set up, wp-config is changed and saved. Help?!
Thanks! That did it.
I have this exact problem, but the error occurs when I’m *trying* to run wp-admin/upgrade.php – the ‘simple’ upgrade instructions are tremendously misleading, so I went to the detailed instrux. I’ve changed the wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php and ensured that all data is correct, but receive this error on line 304 when going to wp-admin/upgrade.php. What am I missing?

In reply to: Missing postsStrike this whole thread. One spare slash in the wrong place threw the entire page for a loop. My bad! My image source had a slash right after the dot before my domain suffix. Bah. Sorry to have watsed your time.

In reply to: Missing postsMy calendar reflects the dates I’ve posted. Settings are ‘show 10 most recent posts.’ Oddly enough, today’s post title is there (top post), but the body is from a previous post.
