In reply to: My RSS Feed is brokenFYI…
I discovered that an old version of Role Manager was creating the empty line at the top of my feeds.
If you can’t find it (or want the RSS fixed while you troubleshoot) there is a possible temporary fix here:

In reply to: WYSIWYG editor does not work with 2.1 !!!!!!Update:
The place to get Role Manager for WP 2.0+ and 2.1+
im web gefunden — and many thanks to the webmaster there for having a page in English. ??Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WYSIWYG editor does not work with 2.1 !!!!!!Just to add my 2 cents… my visual editor was broken by Role Manager plugin version “1.4.5_wp2.1.” That plugin had been updated by someone for WP 2.1, but something about the recent changes caused it to interfere and throw a Javascript error, “tinyMCE not defined.”
Link to this plugin problem as a separate topic:

In reply to: Role Manager Plugin for wordpress 2.1Role Manager used to work for me, but I just discovered that it was breaking my visual editor!
Somehow, it caused a JavaScript error when loading a post or page writing screen: ‘tinyMCE is not defined’
I have been dealing with a broken visual editor for at least a couple of weeks now, and I ended up reinstalling WP to fix it. When I activated all my plugins again, it disappeared. So I started deactivating stuff and it was when I turned off ROle Manager that the visual editor came back.
Could it be interfering with another plugin, or did it break when WP went to 2.09 / 2.1??

In reply to: Dates To RememberNew issue with Owen Winkler’s Dates to Remember (Countdown) plugin:
I just installed version 1.5 and it’s great — except that every time I click Submit to update the dates in the Options, it automatically adds a slash to any single quote marks. It will add one every time I hit Submit, so it ends up with dates like New Year\\\\\\\’s Eve. Even a single backslash also shows up when display dates on the blog, so if it’s supposed to be an escape key, it’s not working.
How do I stop this?

I like Owen Winkler’s Dates To Remember plugin, but last I checked, he had a server crash and redalt.com is still recovering. When it does, you can find Dates To Remember it here: https://redalt.com/downloads/ — but until then, you can download the plugin via The Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20060118043324/https://www.redalt.com/downloads/wp/countdown.zip
