    Many thanks for the website reference, it looks like a great read and study.

    Ah, I see it now, it was just a bit over the horizon, but the sun is starting to shine.

    Many thanks, I understand and follow what is going on and how things work.

    I must admit, I am acquiring a greater appreciation for the effort that went into the creation of this plugin.

    Cheers.

    Many thanks for pointing this out.
    Yeah, I’ve done some HTML stuff for clients, but more recently, clients want something that gets them going and then they want to look after it themselves with some guidance. Thus, a Theme with built in Tables is cool, and of course, there are plugins as well.
    Cheers.

    I went to a fixed, non changing background, it will take me time to test and get back to you.

    Thank you, that gets me really close. There is s thin white line just below the header when I scroll up.
    This is what I have in style.css right now,
    body, #main-wrapper, header.tc-header, footer#footer .colophon {
    background-color: lightgray;
    }
    /* END OF Change Customizr Background to Texture or Image */
    .row-fluid{
    border-bottom:0px;
    }
    footer#footer {
    border-top: 0px;
    }
    hr.featurette-divider.__before_main_container {
    visibility: hidden;
    }
    .sticky-enabled .tc-header {
    height: auto!important;
    background: #fff;
    background: lightgray;
    /* border-top: 0; */
    }

    What can I do about that very thin white line?

    I have been sitting on this to give the plugin time to stabilize.
    SO, for 5 days, I have not logged in nor made any changes to the website or WordFence.
    The exclude is, “*wp-content/plugins/wordfence/tmp*,*wp-content/uploads/soldpress*”.

    Here is the scan ending from the 27th and starting up on the 28th,
    More than 80,000 files, more than 2.3 GB of data?

    Surely the exclude line does not work properly at all.

    This is going to sound like a dirty solution, but,

    Looking through the PHP code for the Plugin, they make extensive use of,
    global $wpdb.

    Would it be possible/feasible to override $wpdb such that it could be made to point to a secondary WordPress database that the Plugin would use for it’s operation, separate from WordPress’ database.

    $wpdb and $wpdb_soldpress?

    The developer just got back to me. They are telling me that they will be creating a new, improved subscription service, Windows based with a subscription to Azure.
    Looks like a big money grab to me. Time to reexamine directions.

    Thread Starter tomkinsrichard

    (@tomkinsrichard)

    I cannot claim to have a strong understanding of WordPress, PHP programming and MySQL, however, over the years I have programmed in various languages, Oracle, PostgeSQL and SQL Server.

    The following query;

    SELECT DISTINCT meta_key
    FROM wp_postmeta
    WHERE meta_key NOT BETWEEN ‘_’
    AND ‘_z’
    HAVING meta_key NOT LIKE ‘\\_%’
    ORDER BY meta_key
    LIMIT 30

    clocks in at 40 to 45 seconds.

    The call says Component is CORE and the Caller is meta_form()+.

    I think that gives me a clue as to what is going on. This is a Real Estate website, the plugin I use is, SOLDPress, the developer uses meta_key of wp_postmeta to store the property attributes for every property.

    Poor Plugin design, they should have created their own table or at least their own rows/columns.

    Is there some way I can turn off or change the query as a short term fix while I badger the Plugin developer?

    I fixed the NextGEN failure, Reset did the trick.

    I have performed the following;

    • deactivated all plugins
    • cleared all the various caches, WP and FireFox
    • clicked on Pages
    • It took 1 second to display list
    • clicked on edit for a page
    • it took 61 seconds to enter edit

    Seriously, there must be other experiencing this failure.

    What is wrong?

    So around 15:06, there was probably an abrupt stop.
    That’s rather unfortunate.
    Let’s take one more stab at making this work.

    The hosting service is GoDaddy shared Linux hosting with cPanel.

    Is there a master reset on WordFence?
    Do I deactivate, uninstall and reinstall?
    Are there are special considerations, no matter how small or insignificant that I need to be aware of?

    Thread Starter tomkinsrichard

    I am not sure it’s working properly. Please see my other post. It looks like it’s been scanning forever, it’s 11:41 am here right now, and the scan looks like it started yesterday around 3:00 pm.

    I still say once a day would be sufficient, or at least a configurable option.

    Is WordFence still scanning???? I captured this from Scan Summary. There is a Detailed Activity log below as well. It would appear that the exclusion entry syntax you specified worked, highly unconventional syntax. It’s not even documented.
    The config caching appears to have an odd interaction with configuration settings, this should be fixed ASAP.

    I just ran into something similar with the same error message.

    There is an option to stop caching the WordFence configuration, turning off caching appears to have worked for me.

    Somewhere in here this solution is mentioned.
