In reply to: Where’s the “underline” option on the tool bar?Bad practice? When referencing a source of information it is correct form to underline the title of the source. I was going to post an example, but, well, can’t. Since when is proper punctuation and form bad practice? If I want it linked, that’s fine, but if the source is not connected to the Internet, what then? I doubt it’s the readers that is the source of this issue, but rather the wp users who don’t know how to use the “link” button instead of underline.
I think I’ll make my own call as to what is “bad practice” for my blog. I know your developers are continually trying to improve the WP experience, but removing several functionalities from the tool bar that have been there for ages was not, in my opinion, a wise move. The decision whether to use them should have been left to the user.
I appreciate your developers leaving the functionality of the keyboard shortcuts in WP (which is not the case for this forum) and I hope they will continue to do so in future iterations of WP. However, please consider my request for reinstatement of the underline function on the tool bar as still in effect.
No need to respond. I have unsubscribed to the thread. Thanks.

In reply to: Where’s the “underline” option on the tool bar?Ok. Well, that was helpful, sort of.
I did find that one line, way down into the first link that said,
“Feature buttons are missing from the editor: To encourage proper use of HTML elements, and to reduce the misuse of confusing elements (such as underlines for example), the toolbars have been rearranged (and some options removed, although their keyboard shortcuts will continue to work as expected), and may be found by extending the toolbar at the top to show both lines of options.”
I sort of knew that, which is why I posted in the Requests and Feedback forum.
Thank you for letting me know the keyboard shortcuts still work. However, the button is not on the tool bar, even when fully extended. I guess I can look all those shortcuts up.
Ahh! Found it: Command-U (OSX)
Still, seems to me there is plenty of room on that tool bar, so why remove it? That was rhetorical. Don’t bother to answer it.
This topic was “resolved” to your satisfaction, but not to mine.

In reply to: I just updated to 4.7 and lost the multisiteNever mind. Got it all back. Not sure what happened, though. For some reason there were two backups with the same date. The first one didn’t save any of the plugins, as I said. The second one restored everything.
I think I’ll wait a few days before I try uptading to 4.7 again and see if anybody else has trouble.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] UTC time conversion errorNever mind. It was the time setting in the WordPress settings. The wppa plugin does not recognize “UTC-7” from the settings selections, but does recognize “Boise” for the time zone.
Sorry for the bother.
Thanks for that info. Still learning. I guess my seeing that it wasn’t working on my pages coincided with my jetpack installation, but was unrelated.
Again, thanks for the quick responses.
I find that it works on some posts, but not on pages. For instance, on my home page I cannot set a featured image. The image you see is inserted into the text. This started when I activated Jetpack, but it is a minimal bother and I need the other features. I have another thread about the comments box not functioning properly as well.
Sorry Kristen. Didn’t mean to hijack your thread.
I have the same issue and Photon was never enabled.

In reply to: [Add Link to Facebook] Can't get it to work and no support without donationHmm. the plugin is not working on my other site either. Looks like it works, but when I tried some test “likes” and “shares” the buttons won’t open. Comment box doesn’t work either.
I am thinking the plugin is incompatible with Jetpack. Got no error messages, but it certainly doesn’t work. Both sites have jetpack on them, but the first site was working with Add a Link before I added jetpack.
The error message in my first post came because I have WP installed in a subdomain and the plugin couldn’t find it. fixed that with the index.php file, but the plugin still wouldn’t work even though it authorized.
I like your fb links better than jetpack’s. Wish the two could play together nicely.
Thanks for redacting my fb information.
