In reply to: Upload to Media LibraryThinks: there must be a log file which I can look at to explain the ‘HTTP error.’

In reply to: Upload to Media LibraryAhem: the site is https://www.greenfriends.org.uk
I originally thought the problem was to do with the memory quota for the site, but this has been investigated and is not the cause.

If I claimed to understand what goes on beneath the hood I should be exaggerating. As the Cat says in Red Dwarf, “I was with you right up to the word ‘simply’.”

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] Cannot add custom fields; Why the post type you have suddenly lost the custom field support is odd though.
; Could you provide more feedback of the behavior and whatnot from before? I’m not sure how to proceed with your issue at the moment without more info.I used Custom Post Type to create Books and Films. Books have Authors, Publishers and ISBN numbers; Films have Actors, Directors etc. Now, when trying to create a new Book item, there is no dialogue box for the Author, Publisher or ISBN; and it is the same when editing an existing entry.
Toying with the settings seems to suggest that the extra elements are there but do not display.
You can see what happens to existing entries at https://www.greenfriends.org.uk/resources/books/.

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] Cannot add custom fieldsThis sounds like my problem. All the custom fields created for books and films have disappeared, and both existing and new entries behave like normal posts. How do I get them back?
See https://www.greenfriends.org.ukThanks for the update. Although the main screen was still blank, the login screen worked and I was able to update the plugin. After a now-standard message appeared:-
“You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘TYPE=MyISAM’ at line 9 on line: 1471”
the plugin is now updated.The next step is to confgure the firewall. Accepting the default Apache + CGI/Fast CGI and php.ini, here goes…
<hold breath>
“Firewall Enabled
PHP SAPI CGI-FCGI
Version 1.3.9 (2015-02-23)”
<breathe again>
Hurrah! Two cheers for technology…Thanks. I’ll try again tomorrow.
; 1. asking your host to make your php.ini recursive, by adding the right instructions to the .htaccess.
This they have done, and I think Ninja is now running correctly. Thank you.
Thanks, but again this requires FTP (unless you know otherwise) and will have to wait untilI I am home again.
; your PHP INI does not seem to apply recursively…
(How does it happen that the installation does not take account of ‘recursion’ or lack of it?Sorry I misunderstood. After putting in greenfriends,org.uk:-
“Sorry 163.47.15.171, your request cannot be proceeded.
For security reason, it was blocked and logged.NinjaFirewall
