In reply to: Edit Page disappears in full viewHave you carried out any of the steps recommended above?
1) Deactivating all plugins: no effect.
2) Using the Twenty Eleven theme – no effect.
3) Resetting plugins by FTP: no effect.
I do not feel qualified to carry out
4) re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress;as the site has only just been upgraded to the latest version at my expense.

I already subscribe to Sucuri. I make no claim to be an expert on WordPress: in fact the last upgrade had to be done manually by an engineer, because automatic upgrade no longer works for me.
Perhaps you can tell me where in the Twenty Eleven theme I need to look to address the problems mentioned earlier.

In reply to: Edit Page disappears in full viewI have tried using the Twenty Eleven theme, but it is far too ugly to be used without considerable adaptation
Specifically:-
(1) The font for the header bar is too big.
(2) The whole text is in full caps.

In reply to: Edit Page disappears in full viewI have tried deactivating plugins not security-related and it makes no difference. I suggest that this is a bug.

The problem with deactivating plugins is quite simple: it exposes the whole site to attack. This has already happened without my inexpert assistance. There is a command to put the whole site into suspense (maintenance mode?), but I don’t know what it is. I will try deactivating all plugins not related to security.

In reply to: Automatic upgrade failsI am on the brink of paying for the upgrade to be carried out. So much for automatic upgrading.

In reply to: Automatic upgrade fails> upgrading Plesk (version 9) to the current version may perhaps help.
Plesk runs on my web host’s server. The version is 9.5.4.

In reply to: Automatic upgrade failsI don’t understand. I already subscribe to Sucuri, who have advised me to disregard the warnings you refer to.

In reply to: Automatic upgrade failsMy webhost insists that I must apply the following permissions to the whole site: 755 for folders, and 644 for files. I left 777 for the upgrade folder, but it has made no difference.
Is it impossible for a non-expert to upgrade a WordPress site???
