In reply to: Can't install 3.0.2. Please help.Glad to hear that it was resolved. I have never had good luck with GD for hosting. Love ’em for domain registration, but won’t touch them for hosting. I prefer to stick with hosts that have a standard cPanel interface – much easier to use, IMO.
Take care!

In reply to: Help, Site not loading?that problem is probably that when you designate /portfolio as the root directory, WordPress is still looking for the install in the /portfolio folder. Undo the root folder designation and follow the instructions for moving WordPress – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress to “move” it to the root folder. Than you should be able to redo the root folder designation with your host. Or just actually move it to the root folder.
From what you said, I think that will fix it.

In reply to: move data and files and test before moving domain name?Usually the hosting company sends an email with the temporary access info – maybe something like the server ##.##.###.##/~username. Did you set up the new hosting account or did your client? Who’s address is the contact address for the hosting account? Look for this email and it should ahve the temporary access URL. or contact the hosting company and ask for it. Then you can check everything’s working before updating DNS for the domain name.

In reply to: How can I move WP from a folfer to other into the same domain?I usually also use the Broken Link Checker Plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/broken-link-checker/) after I move an installation to make sure everything’s covered. Other than that, good instructions above.

In reply to: Can't install 3.0.2. Please help.@ayerdesign – I know you said you checked your config settings. However, wanted to ask if you’ve double-checked the SQL server address? GoDaddy requires a specific SQL, not just the typical ‘localhost’. That usually where that comes from, in my experience.
