Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Temple Gate: An accessible HTML5 WordPress Themep.s. I never knocked your theme, I simply asked people people to clarify the compliance points in terms someone who isn’t as ‘technical’ can understand. If you re-read my posts, I don’t think there is anything offensive in them.
So again, if you want to ignore emails from someone who is simply asking logical questions before spending $50 on a theme, that’s your choice.

In reply to: Temple Gate: An accessible HTML5 WordPress Themealsd, I said I wasn’t interested in the theme you posted in this thread. And that is strictly because the design wasn’t what the person I am helping out is interested in. However, I am interested in one of your other themes which does appeal to the person I am helping.
Also, I got you and esmi mixed up when I left the post saying I had contacted you. I pasted his username by mistake not yours. I just mixed you 2 up and thought his original reply was you replying about YOUR theme.
If you want to ignore a potential customer over a simple misunderstanding of works, then fine.

In reply to: Temple Gate: An accessible HTML5 WordPress Themeesmi,
I was bouncing around between sites getting confused on on who I had contacted and who I hadn’t. I actually am interested in one of your other themes. I just sent a message from your site about it. I didn’t notice right away that you developed this one as well.

In reply to: Temple Gate: An accessible HTML5 WordPress ThemeThanks, I am not actually specifically interested in his theme to be honest. It’s just one of the few you come across when searching for themes that claim to be accessible. The users above seemed very knowledgeable on the accessibility issue, so I thought they may have some theme recommendations that they think are better than the developers theme.
The person I am setting up the site for wants it to be accessible. So I just have to do what I can to find a theme that meets that.

In reply to: Temple Gate: An accessible HTML5 WordPress ThemeI found this thread while trying to look into accesible themes. I found alsd’s theme through a Google search and ended up in this thread while researching it.
Being that there are so many criticisms of his theme, can anyone recommend another?
Having to work on an accessible site for my first time, I appreciate his efforts. But as the other users mentioned, using terms like compliant if it’s not can end up causing issues.

In reply to: How to make Breadcrumb NavXT not show up on the homepagemtekk could you tell me where this code is inserted? Thanks.
For future reference the solution the developer posted worked.
Unfortunately, there was another issue with Weaver and the method it uses to produce rounded corners in IE8 conflicting with NextGen Gallery’s lightbox functions. So I ended up having to disable the code in the theme in the end instead of using the workaround.
Thanks for the help though Ross!
Wow thanks a ton! I will be working on that site in the a.m. tomorrow, and I will let you know how it goes.
hey, there is actually a settings box in weaver to disable the code! I found out about it when I asked on their forum.
The code is related to adding drop shadows and rounded corners in IE8. It’s a shame to remove it for that reason.
Is there a way I can maybe hide the popups on just the sidebar instead? I have the text listings for the events showing below it anyway. And I have the big calendar that can have the popups on another page (it only seems to have the issue with the widget, not the big calendar).
Thanks for the great support! Best support I have had with a plug-in.
Hi, I just got your response through email though I don’t seem to see it here. Odd.
It’s definitely not code I added myself because I don’t even know where it is lol. If you tell me where I should delete it from, I will give it a try. Is it just part of the main CSS?
I am using Weaver, which is a pretty common theme. If it is Weaver specific code, I can ask about it on their forum as well.
Thanks
Just an update, it seemed to just start randomly importing the feed. I don’t know why it wasn’t working before.
ps. shortcode I used on the page above for the big calendar was [google-calendar-events id=”1″ type=”ajax” title=”Upcoming Events”]
Sorry wrong plug-in
Sorry for what may be an obvious question, but when you say ‘click on the calendar to create your events’, what do you mean? Do you mean the calendar they give you the URL for in the Scheduler?
