I misunderstood. Everything worked fine in the Twenty Eleven theme, so it’s obviously a problem with the theme I have installed, which is Newsy.

I tried the two plugin suggestions. Still have the same problems with all plugins, some plugins or no plugins.

Will have to discuss a new theme with someone else. I’m not a designer.

Any other suggestions?
