In reply to: [Visual Portfolio, Photo Gallery & Post Grid] VP Causing Caching issuesHi there- I just wanted to follow up on this. We did another monthly push of new material and even though everything was updated, I encountered the same problem and had to manually flush and then manually update every page in live after pushing staging through. I’m still getting the same warnings, as well.

In reply to: [Visual Portfolio, Photo Gallery & Post Grid] VP Causing Caching issuesHi there! We use DreamHost’s Dreampress hosting. Proxy Cache is the plugin I use to determine any issues with caching, etc. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/varnish-http-purge/ — I’ve been through about every caching plugin out there, ha! And finally ended up on this one, which was our host’s recommended plugin.
The issue was discovered when I was pushing site updates from our staging site (which is not cached) to our live site. The page editors remembered all my changes, but were not rendered on the front-end. After manually re-saving each page, everything came up correctly. However, when digging into the issue, it was discovered that a plugin had either rewritten or overridden the settings mentioned above. My host even gave us a fresh .htaccess file, but it looks like the plugin was creating this? Not sure.
Hi there @wpmudev-support2 ! Yes, I did just try to regenerate thumbnails and that worked successfully. The immediate attempt to smush the images after that didn’t work, but when I filtered out the non-smushed images in my Media and individually smushed, that worked. I flushed my cache and did a new page speed insights test and I keep getting the “Unable to locate resource” warning- I checked with my host and we don’t see anything wrong with my database and we’ve got plenty of storage.
Thank you!Hi there,
I just wanted to follow up with issues regarding this. I work on this site monthly on a volunteer basis and other priorities took the lead. Every time I try to smush images, some error out with “No file data found in image meta” and nothing about these images is any different from images on other sites that I manage. I did try to deactivate Autoptimize and change settings there, but our speed is getting slower and slower and it’s like the images aren’t compressed at all. Our storage for the site has also expanded and it seems like it’s all images. Any guidance on how I can further test the issue would be wonderful. Thank you!

In reply to: Img Alt Attribute Not Appearing in SourcecodeI see! Most images had alt attributes already, and I only had to add about 20-30 missing ones during my audit. Would I remove the priority tags in that case? There are no posts- the site doesn’t have a blog.
Hi there,
My team does use Adobe Creative Suite to various ends (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for the media and they also receive artwork from contributors (this is an art and literature magazine)– we’ve been adding media to the site for years but I only recently noticed the problem.
I disabled the ShortPixel CDN that was running through Autoptimize and deleted the cache and I’m still having the same problems.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Astra] Header Icons not workingOh my goodness they are working now!! Yesterday they appeared as little hollow squares. I made some updates and flushed my cache, but those stuck around…hmmm

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Database changes between live and stagingHi there,
Thanks for your message and apologies for the double-send!
Hmmm- so the overhaul has included the works: new theme, child theme, custom code, new pages, a few new products, new shipping zone and tax info. So, that means that everything is drastically different, but really the only thing that needs to be saved from the current live site is customer info. Unless, I’m misunderstanding where Woocommerce data is stored? I see that it is stored in the site’s database and not externally.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WooCommerce] Database changes between live and stagingHi Andrew- thank you! I do have a follow up question. DreamPress’s migration basically just allows for “all folders” and “all databases,” so I can’t prevent it from sending over a database of old orders.
I’m looking at the Woocommerce documentation and I see a suggestion to export certain data (in relation to products), so would this work:
-In live, export all Orders and Refunds
-Push product updates naturally from Staging
-Import the Orders file?Thanks!
