t-p as i said in my post, i have tried different user names and emails, i think that answers your questions?! if not, i’m not sure what you mean by ‘registering as admin’ if the site is already set up?

Thank you Ross, i found another bit of info after i posted this about entering smtp and port details, etc. i tried setting it up and sending a test email, but my site timed out.
not sure if this means i did it wrong or not.

i was looking around last night, found hosting for ￡1 per month and doesn’t seem to increase in the subsequent years. also found some free hosting sites that i’m going to look into some more.

it seems i cannot create an addon domain with my host, as i am not on the correct plan… =(

and it is obviously not cost effective to upgrade my plan.

oh well, i guess they need to buy their own hosting!

if what i’m looking at were the credentials, everything was as it should be. i contacted the server and everything is back working. thanks.

Just been looking again, is it method 2? I had tried changing the site address, but it ‘broke’ the site. looking at it now, obviously that was because I didn’t know to do steps 6-11. So this is the way to do it? Continue the steps?

i loved the plugin, it’s a shame it stopped working.

i found another plugin that would do the same thing but it did not work.

so now the site is open for anyone to join. up to the client to moderate now, they’re happy with that.
