In reply to: [Embed PDF] [Plugin: Embed PDF] Embeds in FF, but IE screws up the hypertextHi Alan
You’re right I’m afraid – I never got to the bottom of it. I’ve just looked at your page in FF and its fine, but no thumbnails in IE. I’m using MSIE 9 here with Win 7, and just tried my laptop which is again IE9 but with Vista and there’s no thumbnails but is fine in FF.
Don’t know what to suggest I’m afraid ??Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Embed PDF] [Plugin: Embed PDF] Embeds in FF, but IE screws up the hypertextI can’t fathom it – I have THREE pc’s here, and ALL of them show the page properly in Firefox and ALL of them show an empty frame in Explorer!

In reply to: [Embed PDF] [Plugin: Embed PDF] Embeds in FF, but IE screws up the hypertextOkay, thanks for the info on that. But still, why does my embedded document show in Firefox but not in Explorer then?

In reply to: [WP-Table Reloaded] [Plugin: WP-Table Reloaded] Column tooltipThat is unbelievably embarrassing. I simply forgot that I’d added that class, and having removed it the table is now perfect. Many many thanks

In reply to: [WP-Table Reloaded] [Plugin: WP-Table Reloaded] Column tooltipD’oh, of course! Okay, I’ve sorted it now, thanks. Still having a little trouble with the cell borders though that I can’t understand – you can see an example here down in the bottom right corner of the table where the borders have ‘broken’ up. I tried removing all my extra code to check, but unfortunately its still happening

I read the FAQ before posting here – there was a distinct whooshing noise overhead…

In reply to: CURRENT Category widget?Have encountered a problem with this extremely helpful chunk of php – it doesn’t abbreviate itself if it gets too ‘chunky’. If a post title is too long for the space I have available in my sidebar, it currently wraps to the next line, but I’d prefer it that the widget only displayed the first 30 characters of the title instead.
I was also playing with a snippet of code that I’d hoped would highlight the entry in that list of the post I’m currently viewing, but I can’t make it work. Infuriatingly, it looks like it SHOULD be easy!I *think* its solved, by me looking to resolve a different problem while I was waiting for this one to come along – a non-logged in user had reported that they’d not managed to upload an image using the public uploader, because they’d got a memory size error. I’ve just followed the adice in this thread and my other user has now managed to send his image up to the server, but now it *seems* that I can generate thumbnails for album pictures too. If that is the answer then I’m thrilled to have got it sorted, but wouldn’t it be better for thumbnail generation to generate a more useful error message saying “increase memory” rather than just hang and leave you to wonder what’s up?!

In reply to: Remove "Pages" link from navigation menuThankyou very much indeed – I’d spent so long looking for it that I’d just got blind to it. [Solved]
Thanks for the reply Mike. I’m still lost though, as when I change the address to send mail to from a .com address to a .co.uk one, the page refreshes and says in red type over the email address field that it isn’t valid?
Its the send script that is misconfigured somewhere: the script will happily send to any .com address, but will ALWAYS fail with any .co.uk address (or any other address with two periods in the address. I haven’t worked out how to fix it, but at least I know what’s wrong!
Nope, its nothing to do with either of those (no offence to the posters who are obviously trying to help) – its the send script that is misconfigured somewhere: the script will happily send to any .com address, but will ALWAYS fail with any .co.uk address (or any other address with two periods in the address. I haven’t worked out how to fix it, but at least I know what’s wrong!
Okay, inspired by PaulieP I’ve done a little fiddling around and discovered my errors were caused by my customised versions of gridview, single, and list.php files in the view folder of my theme. Comparing my old ones with the new files gave my a hybrid version to make things work properly again and hey presto all my pages now work correctly. Well, almost all…
Only thing that’s still broken is the ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ month buttons on the calendar pages, using the code
` <span class=’tec-prev-month’>
‘>
← <?php echo events_get_previous_month_text(); ?>
</span>
‘
The resulting URL of that link is https://mydomain.com/category/events/2010-05 which is a 404 error. The REAL link for the previous month in calendar view is https://mydomain.com/category/events2010-05 (i.e. the same as the broken one except for events2010-05 rather than events/2010-05) so at the moment I’ve had to comment out the previous and next links. Can someone tell me how to modify the code to remove the erroneous extra slash?
