  • I’m having the same problem since yesterday, 7-25-2015. This is the message I received yesterday and today on my Dashboard.

    Updating Plugin Wordfence Security (2/2)

    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wordfence.6.1.12.zip…
    Unpacking the update…

An error occurred while updating Wordfence Security: Could not copy file. wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/cacert.pem

    My blog is: https://www.southernfriedscribe.com

Wordfence updated correctly on my other two blogs.

This also occurred with the Photo Galley but I guess that’s for another post. My knowledge of code is minuscule and all I know is I’m getting a 404 error that shows up in my log.

Can you tell me how to fix the problem so I can get my updates to work. I’m afraid to blog without Wordfence updated. Can you tell if I’ve been hacked. I have both Wordfence and iThemes security on all 3 blogs. But I really don’t know much what I’m doing when it comes to technical stuff. I’m a writer, mainly in print, and an almost 60 year-old grandma, so please bear with me.

If this involves code, my son who is also my admin can fix it. Code scares me.

    Thanks.

I have an update on this and it was on this computer. I have Adblock Plus on the ASUS laptop, and on the HP laptop, but I guess it was only active on this computer. When I went to unblock it on the ASUS for each of the 3 sites, the social icons showed up on the sites again. I had no idea that Adblock Plus would block my social media buttons.

I learned something new today and it didn’t take 15 minutes to figure it out. So if this happens to anybody else they might want to see if they have Adblock/Adblock Plus and if it’s interfering with their site.

Thanks ever so much for replying because I never would have found this out otherwise. When I get the time I’m going to give the Social Media Feather icons a really good review and recommend them to anyone who asks. Synved you’re great and so is your customer service skills. I greatly appreciate you and this plugin. You Irish are pretty cool people.

Okay, something totally weird is going on. The icons show up on all 3 of my sites on an older HP laptop in Firefox with Windows 10, but they arn’t showing up on this newer Asus laptop in Firefox with Windows 10. This is definitely weird. I really don’t know what to do now.

I do appreciate all the assistance I can get. This is crazy.

The plugin is still installed on all three websites, but when I go to the plugin settings the actual icons are nowhere to be seen. All I have is The Customize Look, icon skin set on regular, the pink area with the extra icon skins, grey fade effect and light prompt overlay buttons, the icon size and all the other stuff below that. I deactivated and reactivated the plugin. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Nothing works to get the icons to display in the plugin settings page or on the actual websites.

I use the Longform theme on my https://www.southernfriedscribe.com site, the Resonar theme on the https://www.southernfriedtlc.com site and the Radcliffe theme with the swww.southernfriedtravel.com site. Do the Social Media Feathers not work well with these themes?

It’s possible one of my other plugins may be messing this one up, but I don’t know. I’m not techie savvy at all.

Would jetpack, Aesop story engine, Askimet, Bootstrap shortcodes, custom Facebook feed, Final tiles grid gallery lite, gallery carousel without jetpack, Google analytics dashboard for WP, MailChimp, page builder by site origin, tiled galleries carousel without jetpack, TinyMCE advanced, UpdradtPlus backup restore, WP user Avatar, Yoast SEO, iThemes security. Wordfence interfere with this plugin?

I already deactivated Social Media widget by acurax. I also went down on size to 32×32 on the icon size.

I’m at a loss and ready to delete this plugin from all three sites. I like it when it works. The icons just refuse to show up, even in the installed plugin.

What do I do to get a permanent fix? I don’t know code, except for just a tiny bit, so please don’t ask me to code anything. You can ask my son. Eli who is my other admin.

I like things that plugin easily without me having to spend 6-8 hours trying to figure out what is wrong to no avail. I’m almost 60 and this frustrates me, but I’m a writer and am supposed to be able to do this, but it seems I often can’t. I’m sure it’s something I’ve done, but I don’t know what. And I don’t mess with code at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated and I’m trying to learn. but it isn’t always easy for me. Anyway, thanks.

The plugins are still there, but I don’t know why the icons refuse to display within the plugin, the widgets or on my site. I hope this can be figured out because I really like your widgets. They’re beautiful and pretty cool.

I actually have 3 websites where I use your Social Media Feather. They are https://www.southernfriedtravel.com
    https://www.southernfriedscribe.com & https://www.southernfriedtlc.com all of which are www.ads-software.com sites.

I know you just updated your newest version 3 hours ago, but the social media buttons aren’t showing up on any of my three sites. They were there yesterday, but not today. This is the second time this has happened since I installed the plugin. I want to keep using the social media feather buttons because I like them a lot, except when they don’t display… lol. I thought I’d let you know what was going on.

    Thanks.

    Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Lost Blog URL

I have totally messed up my blog and the video doesn’t work as a solution to my problem. I changed the url to the website address without the /tips/ art to it. It wouldn’t let me change it back either. I can’t get to my php and can’t find it either. The blog comes up without anything fancy. The suggestion on the vidieo didn’t work for it because I don’t have that login on my blog page. Now I can’t get into my dashboard and WordPress refuses to recognize my password or username. Also I couldn’t access my FTP, maybe I didn’t have one. So I tried to download/upload it. That didn’t help either. How do I get my blog page back when none of this stuff works and I can’t access my dashboard or my settings or anything? I’ve been trying to fix this for several hours to no avail. Can anyone S-L-O-W-L-Y walk me through this? I’m am worse than a newbie beginner with this. Thanks.
