In reply to: Youtube embed code

I’m having the same issue as stargazernc. I can post videos, one author-status user can post videos, and one author-status user has the problem with the embed code vanishing when he posts.

I see what you mean in the page source. This is odd, because in the editor the header has the <e m> tags.

Quite accidentally, I figured out how to fix this. I do not know if this issue is specific to my theme (Atahualpa) or not, but here’s what I did anyway.

On the Edit Page screen, there are two options. They are:

      Body Title Single Pages
      Body Title Multi Post Pages

These options auto-populate with whatever the header is. So in my example:

    Body Title Single Pages: <e m>Plunder Squad</e m> (1972)

If I delete the text from both of these fields, and then save the page, they will again auto-populate and look exactly like they did before, but for some reason the <e m> in the header will now work. Quite the headscratcher.

(I’ll leave the messed-up page up for a few days just to give anyone curious a chance to see what we were talking about.)

I didn’t add any special code (don’t know how to do that–my skills are pretty basic). I did do a theme update fairly recently, but I think it was before this problem started. I notice that a post I published on December 14 does not have the issue, so this is pretty new.

    What is the esc_attr function?

I gave up, created a new page with the same HTML, and deleted the old one. It was a pain updating the links, but it worked.

Atahualpa does not seem to have a page.php file.

It has the following .php files. Could one of these be it?

      comments-paged.php
      comments.php
      css.php
      footer.php
      functions.php
      header.php
      index.php
      js.php
      legacy.comments.php
      searchform.php

I hope this is what you are looking for. Are there multiple page.php files or just one? This is the one I found.

    Thanks again!

Thank you. I gave that a shot. Unfortunately it didn’t work.

Even more unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to matter what I change the title of the page to!

I changed the title of the page to “Test Test Test.” Now when you go to the page, “Test Test Test” appears at the top of the browser as the page title, but the title I am trying to change remains the same even though that text is no longer there.

I have checked this in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Very strange.

Here is the page again: https://violentworldofparker.com/?page_id=561

I am having the same problem. I followed the instructions. The plugin is active and configured for the services I want to link, but it is not showing up on blog posts.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with it or not, but my blog page is not my front page.
