I’ve spent the last HOUR trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and it turns out it was a TERRIBLE, FOOLISH change by the plugin developer! The point of a modal is to not leave the current screen! You’ve essentially made the modal WORTHLESS! BIG THUMBS DOWN!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Shipping Zones not saving…It wasn’t resolved. I ended up purchasing a 3rd party plugin to get shipping to work.

In reply to: Anyone know of a trick to determine whether or not a plugin is…I got on my hands & knees today to beg our MIS Director to take a look at the plugin over lunch and you’re going to DIIIIIIIIIE when you hear what the problem has been this whole time…
The submit button to save the settings is being stripped out because it doesn’t have a value assigned to it. You add any value to the button using developer tools, it saves perfectly fine.

In reply to: Anyone know of a trick to determine whether or not a plugin is…I don’t need to hire anyone. I have a MIS Director on staff who is very busy with client items and has not had the time to rip apart this plugin. We shouldn’t have to do that ourselves either.
All I came here for is to see if anyone knew of a trick or plugin or script that could be run to determine whether or not a plugin is using an external source.

In reply to: Anyone know of a trick to determine whether or not a plugin is…I’m aware plugins can do anything. I just need to know if this one is doing something externally. It does help because then we’ll know what the problem is and we can modify server configurations to accept traffic just from him.
I offered him a clean, separate install with just Woo & his plugin installed so he can see what it’s doing (I absolutely can’t give him access to our network) and he said to me “We are not going to answer any questions anymore, even if you extend support and give us the needed login credentials.”

In reply to: Anyone know of a trick to determine whether or not a plugin is…I don’t know if I should disclose that at this point to be honest. I don’t want to cause further drama, the developer is a bit volatile. One of his emails to me was “please request a refund. I will accept it, so you are not annoying us anymore with your comments. We will ignore all of your incoming messages and anywhere, so do us and you a favorite and look for another solution.”
Unfortunately this is the only plugin that does what I need, so it’s not like I can go anywhere else unless I want to invest in building it out myself…and he knows it.

In reply to: [Pet Adoption Listings] Meh. Just creates an iFrame, no real integration…My suggestion would definitely be loose the iFrame…iFrames are not very device responsive or customizable, which is imperative for branding. Not sure if they offer an API, but an API would be a far better way to go then this.
Notice: class-feed.php is deprecated since version 4.7.0! Use fetch_feed() instead.
I don’t think Yoast has any intention of fixing the issue being it’s been over a year. We’ve switched to SEO Framework (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/autodescription/).

In reply to: [ChatPirate live chat] Is everything accessible through WP?Hi Art,
Thank you for the super quick response. We’re looking for a good chat platform (we’d actually like the option to have it admin facing as well for client websites for technical support, and I’m sure our Technology Director can finagle that), but I’m never keen on requiring staff log into a 3rd party website for management. I see you have desktop notifications and transcripts, which is fabulous. We’ll look more into it. Thank you very much for your time.
Ok. Thank you for the quick response!
I’ll continue my search for an Facebook Events plugin.I ended up uninstalling the plugin because I couldn’t get it to work consistently.
Confirmed 100%. Shortcode issue cropped up with v3.0. Went all the way back to 2.3 and weird shortened description thing and incorrect word count still exists. I’ll take the shortened descriptions and incorrect word count over the shortcode registering, I guess.
