ok I am using Firefox on a mac. FF version 76.0.1 (64-bit). I tried it in Chrome and it worked. I have not cleared cache yet in FF. Got it working so that is all that matters right now. Thanks.

I understand this. I am logged in as admin of our website at mylizzy.com. I am in the admin panel and trying to activate Jetpack. I click the Setup Jetpack button, it says

Activate essential WordPress security and performance tools by setting up Jetpack
    Connecting as {username}

With a approve button or a switch account link. I click the approve button, it says

Something went wrong. You need to log in to WordPress.com to enable Jetpack

The options from there are Try again, contact jetpack support or the approve button (that failed).

The user and password I am using is correct as I can go to another tab, go to WORDPRESS.COM not ORG and log in. But when I enter this info from the jetpack setup screen it gives the error above.

I have tested this multiple times. I have gone so far as to click the try again button, switch account, and reenter my log in info into the WORDPRESS.COM not ORG popup window that comes up from your plugin. I enter the same info (that I enter into wordpress.com in the other tab in my browser and currently logged in under) and again, your plugin gives that error.

I only mention the other tab so that you understand that I have tested my account login at WORDPRESS.COM not ORG and what I am entering is correct.

I hope this clarifies any questions and gives you what you need to guide me on the proper course. Thank you for your time.

Anti-spam by CleanTalk got back with me and asked me to unset ‘users must be registered and logged in’ since I wanted guests to post and be able to post via FB account. I did this and tested a new comment and it worked. Marking resolved.

Sorry, forgot to mention I am also using Anti-spam by CleanTalk. I may contact them and see if they are possibly removing everything as spam.

Further more, I would like to allow them to post using a facebook login or just as a guest by entering name and email…apparently I have screwed up something along the way.

I also have JetPack single sign on activated.

You sir, are my hero. I’d man-hug you and buy you a beer if close by. Thanks!

Yeah I am using JetPacK and I looked through many of the activated settings. Apparently I am missing something. Do you know offhand if there is a plugin within JetPack that lets me do what I am asking? Currently I have Sharing, Enhanced Distribution, Subscriptions enabled and none of these seem to have any settings I see to more advanced stuff like I want.

Please advise if you know where I need to look. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Posting in the how to and trouble shooting section.

After contacting JetPack, they are aware of the issue and working on it, however they did give me a work around that works. After I add some text to the post, add the Read More tag to the post THEN add my youtube video short code. Everything after the Read More is ignored in the email that gets sent out and it works exactly as I need.

    Thank you for your time.

    Thanks Courtney.

I understand that, but the goal isn’t to send out an email that my readers would then go to youtube. I want them to come to my site. A youtube link, would take them to youtube and not my website. I don’t expect an embedded video in the email. It would be nice to have the flexibility to select in admin that I wanted either just an excerpt to go out or a featured image to go out in the body of the email instead. This would eliminate the possible short code issue as well as limit your full blog post being emailed to the reader. If I can’t set this up in admin, I would like to know how to do so in the code.

I did email jetpack support. I doubt they will guide me through a hack in the code though…

Thanks for the link MacManX, I’ll hop over there and drop them a line.
