I’m modifying theme files directly. What is the problem with that?

In reply to: [List Petfinder Pets] [Plugin: Petfinder Listings] Shelter ID?It’s OK Bridget. I figured it out and wrote an article about how other people can do it.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Need easier instructionsI guess I’m just a big dummy! I have two clients with very slow loading shopping cart sites. In addition to making their sites faster, I was going to recommend this plugin in my Examiner column! But I have to learn how to use it first before I can teach others.
I’ve barely done anything with the installation and I have 4 messages in yellow bars and one in pink. I don’t even understand what these messages mean. It’s overwhelming!!!
I will be out of office today but will try to follow the instructions in the links you posted tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Esmi, thank you but it didn’t work. We found that same code on all the format- pages, removed it and it’s still linking from the home page.
I agree PolishPaul. Everything works fine for me but my customer says he goes to http on the home page instead of https. I need to understand the plugin options better so I can troubleshoot the problem.

In reply to: [Really Simple CAPTCHA] [Plugin: Really Simple CAPTCHA] Image not showing upI have a similar problem. Moved a WordPress site from a sub-directory into the root folder. In Firefox I don’t see the captcha image and in IE I get the red x.
I deleted the plugin and re-installed but still not seeing the captcha. This site is on a secure server so I don’t know if that’s affecting it, but I could see the captcha image before when it was in a sub-folder.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 Not SubmittingMy problem was on a GoDaddy website. I set up a second WP site in a sub-folder and the forms work beautifully. Something in the root folder seems to be conflicting. At this point I think I’ll just point the URL to the sub-folder where the forms work and be done with it.
Out of curiosity, what theme are you using Bartoli?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 and Secure ServersI copied the Contact Form over to another site I host on secure server and it worked. So that’s not the problem with this site. I’m stumped!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Submit form and nothing happensI’ve been using Contact Form 7 with no issues for a couple of years on dozens of sites. This time I’m having problems similar to this. The form isn’t processing.
I copied the form and put it on another WP site and it works flawlessly. I am wondering if there is an issue with this site being on a secure server, or maybe because the existing site is still up while I’m designing (I do this all the time without problems) but the existing site has a form that processes through GoDaddy php script. Could it be conflicting?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Problems w/ 3.2.1What do you know? I did overwrite the newer version because it’s telling me I can update the plugin. Do you have another website and FTP access to it?
With the file attachments you have to put the code, for instance [document] or [photograph] (whatever you called the upload file [file-picture]) in the lower part of the Contact Form set up Mail section, where it says File Attachments.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Problems w/ 3.2.1I’ve been using Contact Form 7 for a couple of years on pretty much every WP site I design. I use it because it works – well, until now.
I added it to a new site I’m developing and it’s not working. A couple of times I got confirmation and the email, but most of the time it doesn’t complete the transaction, and sometimes it does, but doesn’t send me an email.
I’m noticing a lot of other long-time users here reporting problems and I can’t help but think it’s something with Contact Form 7.
I actually downloaded an earlier version from another site I did, and uploaded it but it doesn’t seem to have overwritten the new version because it’s still not working.
