  • Andy_b3000, don’t know if this will apply to your situation, but I found the cure for my Facebook and Twitter counts having disappeared.

A few weeks ago, I had installed a browser plug-in called Do Not Track. Apparently it is was broke the count functionality of Digg Digg. After I disabled Do Not Track, the Digg Digg buttons all appeared perfectly as they had before.

    IT’S FIXED!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew!!!! And everyone! I just discovered that the problem was at MY end, and I sincerely apologize for assuming it was Digg Digg. Perhaps this information might help you troubleshoot for someone else experiencing the same issue, so I do want to share it with you.

A few weeks ago, I had installed a browser plug-in called Do Not Track into Safari and Firefox. Apparently IT is was broke the functionality of Digg Digg. I can certainly understand why it would have broken the count from Facebook and Twitter, but it is odd that it also broke the Facebook button from appearing after all posts on the index (home) page and that it also broke the alignment.

But after I disabled Do Not Track in both Safari and Firefox, the Digg Digg buttons all appeared perfectly as they had before.

    Again, my apologies.

Andrew, thank you so much for your response. I apologize for having forgotten to include a link so others could view the issue and offer suggestions. I should also mention for troubleshooting purposes, that I’m using these browsers (Safari, Facebook and Chrome) on a Mac running the latest version of Lion.

Just wanted to chime in that the same thing is occurring on my site…both with Facebook and Twitter counts. Aggravating!

(I use a different plugin for Pinterest, and that count is working fine)

Samuel, thank you so very much for checking. I was dumbfounded that https://troubleensued.com/feed/ did work for you.

I realized after reading your response that I hadn’t tried other browsers (rookie mistake). It still shows “No Articles” for me using Safari 4.0.5 (I’m on a Mac) or trying to subscribe through the Mail.app. But I discovered tonight that URL *does* work in Opera 9.61 and Firefox 3.6.8.

Now I’m completely stymied, because other RSS feeds work fine in both my Safari and Mail.app. So I never suspected they were problematic.

Question remains, I guess…*is* there anyway that I can change the referring URL to feed://troubleensued.com/?feed=rss2 Because I know that one is compatible with everything at my end (all three browsers and subscribing through the Mail.app).

    Thanks again.
