@msbklyn We are experiencing similar issues (well, the same issue only intermittently), I would be most interested if you find a solution.
Thanks Marius. I’ll pursue the wp_mail filter option. I frankly am not interested in the 4000 users on my multisites each bringing issues to me on a set of plugins and themes I’ve provisioned.
The users very first issue is what an email not revealing any issues means and if it is something for them to worry to worry about.
An alternate approach might be this: if the plugin is network activate then send mail only to the network administrator.
Cheers
I’ll try to make an equally enticing argument.
Would it possible for the notifications to go just to the Network Admin email as listed in the Network Settings screen? There is little that individual blog users on multisites can do about the issue anyway except complain nastily to their Network Admin.
Also, I have thought several times since I installed the plugin how great it is to be warned of what will break in advanced. Thanks.

In reply to: [Network Posts Extended] Update causing critical errors on dashboard accessAh, that explains it for me as well. We tend to wait for a couple of bug fixes on new major versions before upgrading.
Thanks
Hi Onur, I really appreciate the follow up, but I have had series freemius related issues twice now (not just with your plugin, but with others as well) on two different production servers.
There appear to be issue reports extending back a couple of years now. My understanding is that all plugins using freemius will attempt to use the most current freemius SDK from which ever freemius based plugin on the server contains it.
The structure of Freemius also contains various other work arounds. As the issues have not been minor errors but critical one prevent loading of the subsites on multisite I’m not willing to risk the introduction or reintroduction of freemius based plugins into my production servers.
Okay, was away for 10 days, back to the problem. Have eliminated network errors, some nginx proxy settings.
Without errors the refresh metaboxes and widget lists cycles for a while and then just stops without returning the list of items. I also tried the init option with a similar result, no return.
I am running AAM on a multsite install, Not network activated, only activated on Site 0, is this likely to make a difference?
Thanks for the follow up Hannah, I did get this solved. I wound up searching for the called function in the error to see where it may have originated. It brought me to here: https://cogdogblog.com/2015/02/05/one-click-featuring/
This is the blog of a guy who is actually associated with my own institution.
We are in a multi-side installation and it turns out the Virtue installation contained a child theme and some custom code.
We did some reorganization and an out-of-the-box installation and things are now fine.
Thanks very much again for your help and I love the theme.
Yes, still no go.
