I rarely manipulate images larger than 1900 px wide – the example image we’ve used here is typical of the sizes i use a lot in our project 1000 x 1200px.

Just upgraded to 0.4.7 – There is a slight improvement. Rasterizing the image made a slight improvement also. This, together with your point about ‘Smoothing’ leads me to believe it may be an anti-aliasing issue. I see similar issues in Photoshop When i turn aliasing off; all images and fonts take on this pixelated, jagged-edged rough look.

Not so i’m afraid – this only happens with images opened with your plugin; I rarely touch the browser zoom control and btw its set permanently to 100%. I have the global Media Settings in WP menu all set to 0 (zero) to prevent WP creating unnecessary, unwanted image copies. If your plugin is expecting defined dimensions for an image then it may be defaulting to rendering small size images which of course when scaled up cause this issue.

I haven’t attempted to scale up or down! what you see is the image as opened in WP-Paint without me doing anything. Eventually i’d like to scale DOWN (which is the only way to scale without pixelation) and also id like to Crop, preferably specifying anchor points if possible. However for now i’d just like to see the image without pixelation.

Tried your suggestions – only small amount of improvement but not good enough for working with. Do you have any 3rd party plugin enhancing the image quality on your machine??

    Yes latest chrome :
    Google > Help

Image itself is a standard .png 8bit resized in Photoshop. Pngs, as you know, can tolerate some scaling ‘up’ before any pixelation occurs – i would expect this type of pixelation from a .gif

    Yes sure,

    WP Version : 5.5.1
    PHP Version : 7.4.9
    Database Version : 10.3.23-MariaDB-log-cll-lve
    WP Paint Version : 0.4.6

Here is the same image untouched initially opened in WP standard editor then WP-Paint:

    WordPress Media Editor

    wp-paint Edit

    wp-paint Edit (at 100%)

I hope its an issue with my installation since i’ve done many Google searches for replacement Media editor for WP and yours always rates high so this is why i think it may be isolated and ‘installation-specific’ at least it can then be resolved. Other than this it ticks so many boxes.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes sorry forgot to add its the latest version of the plugin 1.4.2 – only saw them this morning looking at my error.log file. Could there be some conflict with WP latest version upgrade 5.5.1??

No problems in the front end and doesn’t appear to cause any issues with the functioning of the Authentication.

    Thanks

    Hi Shaun,
Yes, i’m currently converting existing products in WC to variable products to use one custom global attribute with 3 variations so its more than doable if care is taken. Looking at the wp_posts DB table I’ve noticed old, long deleted posts going back almost 18 months so easy to see why the increment ID value is so high. I ll work on a backup version for a few weeks all the same.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Thanks for the info – will bear this in mind and i’m still loving this plugin.

    Thanks

    Hey Sanjeev,
Sorry for the late reply, thanks for your response, shame; the multiple constants would have been a real convenience but the securing of the constant values is more critical so overall no problem.

    Best Regards

    Hi,
I get what you say and the features are great, however i would of expected that the price rise would coincide with the new features when they are released; not before, so users can see why the price rise is justified. I contacted you recently via your website regarding re-indexing blog-Ids as part of the cloning process. I surmised by stating that,

“… it wont detract from me getting NS cloner Pro”

. Regrettably i just can’t see that this can work for us now. I’m currently in contact with another WP plugin developer who is looking at implementing a similar teleporting feature and api for autonamous cloning tasks feature. Obviously you have your own reasons for the pricing and that we have to respect so best of luck with an otherwise excellent solution.

    Hi @robertabela –

Yes, We have it setup exactly as you stated and STILL NO CHANGE. As can be seen from the screenshot the option still presents itself to the ‘Shop Manager’ when he’s viewing his Profile page on the subsite of which he is a member.

Network Admin > 2FA Settings Page

Subsite > Users > Your Profile Page

Yes didn’t think of that … Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve tested the functioning of MU-Plugins with a couple of simple scripts, ‘hello world’ and a simple echo ‘notification’. I thought it might be plugins that use SMTP like wp-forms, wp-smtp, wp-forms for elementor etc. I’m going to create a clean install multisite, as you suggest; if successful i’ll install each plugin and theme one at a time until i find whats interfering with my mu-plugin function. My money is on Astra Themes which all my subsites rely upon heavily. Since Astra requires its own ‘base’ plugin which the themes load into; distinctly different to standard themes which comprise of html & css.

I’ll keep this post updated for anyone else who may encounter this issue …

    Cheers

    Hi bcworkz,
Sorry for the late reply didnt know i had a response – i de-activated each plugin one by one; no joy – i can’t get a bog standard install since my project relies on the themes it uses and functionality – disabling it all negates the project.

I’ve put it down to either the themes which are used on ALL subsites; Astra Starter Themes or stupid as it sounds; i haven’t read any evidence that mu-plugins work with sub-domain based multisites. The little info i’ve read about mu-plugins online and you yourself are using a directory-based multisite. I see no info to state whether mu-plugins are for a directory-based feature only or not.

I’m experimenting with a plugin which i may be able to hack … ill keep you updated.

    Hey Richard,
Just to get back to you on this i’ll re-iterate the advice given by, JNashHawkins – and press the point that it IS GoDaddys responsibility. Though no on can give guarantees or promises (monetary compensation or otherwise) when carrying out migrations if they fluff-up the process then, minimum, they should give you the backup they made prior and you can make the decision how to proceed if they can’t or won’t.

To be honest if you message most prospective new hosts pre-sales then you’ll get an idea of how competent they are with migrating WP. Most who offer a migration service are talking about a WP single installation; mention ‘multisite’ and you sometimes hit a blank; i did even with my NEW host. I pushed the point and they relented but by then i’d done it myself simply to get on! Make it clear that you are talking about a WP ‘Multisite’ with ‘x’ number of subdomains which are ‘live’ and also whether it a sub-domain or directory based Multisite – if they seem vague in their knowledge dont trust them to do it properly.

Didnt try the url you gave so not sure if you are live as jNash pointed out but best of luck with this.

Hope you get sorted. Multisites a great but they do tend to be high maintenance divas!
