    Nvm. After inspecting the page source I found out that I could use the CSS class ‘.woocommerce-shop’ to uniquely identify the page as an alternative to page-id.

    The page id is still the same, but for right now I’m happy with this band-aid over the problem. It also may be important to note that my site was built from a demo site.

    I think I may have a backup saved with the draft. However, I’m unable to restore my backups currently (I’m working with softacalous support to fix that). Where would the draft data be stored? Maybe I could just copy and paste the file into my current installation.

    I have free Elementor so they don’t provide support (to my knowledge)..

    Thanks for your reply. The customizer issue seems to be fixed. I did try clearing the cache, but it didn’t do anything.

    It fixed itself somehow. I couldn’t tell you how.

    (@tryb)

    Yes, I tried that as well as another computer and it didn’t work. Somehow though, it magically fixed itself.

    I went to sleep and it was broken and I woke up and it worked… Dont ask me how, hopefully it doesn’t come back because it was a real pain with no solution in sight.

    I tried deactivating all plugins and it didn’t work. Using a new theme (twenty twenty one) doesn’t work.

    I duplicated the page, just had to change a few things and it works. Weird issue, but it’s fixed now. Thanks.

    As stated previously, using the twenty-twenty three theme with only that theme and elementor fixes the issue.

    I followed your instructions and removed home from the “reading” setting page and replaced it with the contact page. It displays and works fine with the contact page. What is wrong with my homepage then?

    I also tried changing the host configuration values and it didn’t fix anything.

    I am in touch with elementor page builder. This problem seems to only apply to OceanWP though, as twenty-twenty-three works fine for me.

    Another piece of information that may be useful: The only page Elementor doesn’t work on is the homepage. On other pages it views and edits the site just fine. And still, swapping themes “fixes” the issue (but it messes up the layout).

    Hello,

    Thank you for getting back to me. As you recommended, I disabled all plugins and added them back individually. The elementor edit does not work even as the only plugin, or with ocean extra.

    I meant to put a post on here, but I didn’t want to celebrate too early. I seem to have fixed it now after spending wayyyyy too much time on it. It’s less of a fix and more of a supersized band-aid but it works for me ig.

    It must be something wrong with my specific header that came with the demo site. If anyone has this same issue, here’s the “fix”:

    Paste this cs
    #site-header {
    margin-top: 100px;
    }

    (you may need this CSS as for me the header overlaps with my content at the top)
    #transparent-header-wrap {
    margin-bottom: 100px;
    }

    I also had to put: margin-top: -100px; for .elementor.elementor-17 (to remove white-space at the top of my homepage)

    That should do the trick if you just want a header at the top. But if you want a sticky header then download Sticky Header OceanWP plugin. (all other plugins will not work from my experience) This is actually the easier way to do it as you don’t need the first CSS.

    Remove the first CSS, somehow works perfectly. Don’t ask me why. I could try to make it a shrinking header, but it’s so sha-nangled that I think it’s smarter to just not touch it.

    Case closed I’m out.

    Thread Starter Tryb

    (@tryb)

    Yes, the transparent header is set with OceanWP theme and it was at 0.3 opacity but I’ve changed it to 0 just to be sure.

    Yes, as you described, the header is not in elementor. I also do not have Oceanwp pro in case that matters.

    I’ve made some progress today. I actually thought I fixed it, but after further inspection, the menu dropdowns are no longer visible.

    here is the CSS that I put in.

    site-header {
    overflow: hidden;
    position: sticky;
    z-index: 999;
    }

    .elementor.elementor-17 {
    margin-top: -100px;
    }

    The ‘overflow: hidden’ property fixes the alignment again, but as mentioned, the dropdowns are now hidden as well. Both the ‘discover ^’ and the mobile menu dropdown are hidden.

    Without the .elementor.elementor-17 code setting the margin-top to -100px, the top of the page is just white space. IDK why this is the case. Maybe there’s another fix to it. https://snipboard.io/NaP9bc.jpg compared to https://snipboard.io/Rj1CBL.jpg .

    I’ve tried setting the site navigation and menu dropdowns etc to be visible with this code but it has no effect even after putting ‘!important’.
    .site-navigation {
    overflow: visible ‘!important;
    }

    The white space next to the image should be fixed now.
    Do you have any ideas to make the dropdowns show up or other ways to fix the alignment?

    Thread Starter Tryb

    (@tryb)

    It is the transparent header option of the OceanWP theme.

    As mentioned, the header doesn’t even show up in Elementor. Which I think might be the stem of the problem. However, the header needs to remain this way to preserve the functionality of the header I already have. So if possible, let’s try to find a solution that works around this aspect.

    Hey Amir,

    Sorry about that error. After updating woocommerce it broke my site and I had to reset it. It should be back online now.

    I think you are right about the menu usually being handled by the theme, however in this case the cart icon seems to be handled by woocommerce plugin. I can edit, drag, and change the position of everything except for the cart icon in the theme menu customizer. That cart is not even visible there. (It also has a woocommerce dropdown functionality that the carts in my theme do not have)

    give these a try: https://trybjerky.com
