In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Restoring from BackupI guess the problem I am running into here is that in order to restore the site to a different server (that is have two sites running at the same time) and following the instructions found here , once you change your settings to point to the new server, you are blocked out of WordPress and can’t use BackWPup.
I am working around this by manually doing my own backup but if I can do that why use BackWPup.
There seems like there should be an easier way to do this but I can’t figure it out.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Restoring from BackupThank you. But what I was looking for was help in copying the site to a new server. Your instructions only cover moving WordPress within the same server.
Do you have any help for that. Thank you very much for your assistanceForum: Plugins
In reply to: [WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] WooCommerce pluginEven before we had problems with WooCommerce, the site ran extremely slow. Even on non WordPress pages. I lost all faith with them when they didn’t the only work with HTTPS via proxy. Not sure exactly what that means but it seems somewhat deceptive.
It can’t be that expensive to move. Usually you can get a prorated discount if you cancel your contract.
I just heard of a webhost that specializes in WordPress. It is more expensive but guarantees super fast speeds and high security. Might be worth looking into.Forum: Plugins

The only solution was to move our site to a new webhost. I recommend Bluehost that fully supports WordPress and WooCommerce and has good tech support.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: [Custom Widget Area] Where to write the code?I think if say you want it in the header you paste it into the header.php file. You paste it before or after the element where you want it to appear.

In reply to: Moving WordPressWell, I am not giving WordPress its own directory but moving it to the root directory.
It turned out that the config.php file still referred to the old folder, so once I edited that it worked fine.I upgraded to 2.0.10 but don’t see the option to remove the redundant date. Is that option not in the current version?

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] [Plugin: The Events Calendar] Column order switchedThanks Jonah
Took a while to figure out what was what but it seems to work now. Thank you.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [The Events Calendar] [Plugin: The Events Calendar] Column order switchedI have it on Default Events which uses a full page width for the Events Calendar on this page. For single page events it uses the same template as used for blog postings except that it doesn’t do that correctly. You can see a single event posting at this page

I am taking a look at this now and will compare the markup for a Event plugin page and a non-plugin page.
In the meantime if you want to take a look at https://www.semmesco.com. The Calendar is under Resources > Upcoming Events.
I tried changing the Template from Default Events Template to Default Page Template. This actually makes the single page listing look fine. But it changes the Event Calendar page to two column. I would like to keep that full page width.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [The Events Calendar] [Plugin: The Events Calendar] Column order switchedSorry, I was out of town for a few weeks and did not have access to the internet. I will take a look at this and get back to you if I have any further questions. Thank you for helping out her.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] [Plugin: The Events Calendar] Column order switchedThe sidebar is on the right for me too. But my template calls for it to be on the left. I am using a custom theme that allows you to select which side, you want the sidebar on. I selected left. But Event Calendar overrides that and places it on the right.
