In reply to: I can’t find this plugin anywhere!Hi,
What I see on that page is a pop up that activates if I move my cursor outside the page. So what you are probably looking for is plugin that works on ‘exit intent’ idea.
Try searching on Google: https://www.google.fi/?gws_rd=ssl#q=exit+intent+plugin+wordpress&*One plugin that does something similar is: https://fi.www.ads-software.com/plugins/optinmonster/

I assume that you both have more knowledge in this matter than I have, so could you answer this:
Assume that we want to roll back a bloated, commercial theme which has e.g. commercial slider bundled in it.So each theme update has also a newer version of the slider packed in.
If I look into my database file I can see references that has something to do with that slider.
So if I would roll back only the theme files, wouldn’t the database still have some information about the newer slider version? Wouldn’t this cause problems?

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] 403 error if plugin is disabled or removedHi,
and thank you for your reply.Yes, I did these corrections when my site started using https, so they are not the problem. Your plugin works with https on my site! (and for the record, no plugin was used for the https merge)
The problem is, I get 403 error, ONLY IF I try to disable or remove your plugin.

In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainOh well, if it’s not bad for security or for SEO, I might just let it be.
I feel I have taken enough of your time already. I thank you kindly for your time, and for letting me to pick your brain.
If I do continue to debug this, and find the solution, I will post my findings here.
Anyways, I have sent you some coffee ??
Thank you

In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainUPDATE: WP Rocket sent me a filter for testing:
add_filter('rocket_htaccess_mod_rewrite', '__return_false');
It had no effect.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainI have sent WP Rocket a ticket and I will report back with their thougts.
Your status check got me wondering though. If that is what you expected to see, then is my original idea still valid or am I talking just nonsense? Could WordPress be changed in a way, that https://site.com/posts would jump directly to https://site.com/posts/ ? If I test your site with Pingdom it shows me two 301’s.
And, if my redirection chain can’t be easily fixed, is it less secure than your way?

In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainI have changed the order, and cleared WP Rocket’s cache. I’m sorry to say, but this had no effect on the redirects.
Should the
AuthName
AuthUserFile
remain after #END WordPress ?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainShall we @ipstenu continue this: https://www.ads-software.com/ideas/topic/redirecting-trailing-slash-301-directly-to-https-if-it-exists here.
Thank you for taking interest in my issue. I do appreciate your time.
Yes, the 301 is in the .htaccess file, located in the same subfolder as the WordPress install.
https://pastebin.com/EUNGVLakEverything works, but .htaccess is kind of a copy paste woodoo to me. I would like to become better at it, though.
The issue is, I would like to continue with @ipstenu this: https://www.ads-software.com/ideas/topic/redirecting-trailing-slash-301-directly-to-https-if-it-exists
and now I’m unable.Thank you for the suggestion. I tried that. Cleaned up Firefox, tried also with Chrome, and even tried from another IP. Problem remains.
I hope @ipstenu picks up this message.

In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainThank you for the suggestion. I will try to do some tests with that.
I think that getting this feature changed would be beneficial to many users since more and more sites are moving towards https. So I took the initiative, and sent my suggestion for evaluation:
https://www.ads-software.com/ideas/topic/redirecting-trailing-slash-301-directly-to-https-if-it-existsIf you agree, please give it a vote.
Many thanks for your help.

In reply to: How can I minimize domain redirect chainThank you @bcworkz for your reply.
Since ‘trailing slash adding’ seems to be a built in function in WP, I’m afraid there is no htaccess-magic in the world that could override it. It probably should be changed inside the function. Unfortunately I’m not skillful enough to do that.

In reply to: Backend Avada theme translations wrong after 4.6 updateHi Tara,
Thank you for your reply. I am aware that you don’t give support to commercial products. However, as James Huff says here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-46-master-list
Words from my theme/plugins have changed: Some plugins and themes still include their own translations, with WordPress 4.6 we made changes to how translations are prioritized. This means translations submitted by the community now get prioritized over ones submitted by the authors themselves, and may in some cases mean that words have seen some changes. If you run into any problems with this, please leave detailed feedback under #34213.
So feedback was requested. Although, #34213 seemed to require more technical feedback than I can offer, so I placed it here.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Showing 404 when tested with GTmetrixThank you again Destac. The symptom is gone.
It turns out that over a year ago I added a Twitter feed to the front page. W3TC was interfering with feed updates so I disabled it from the front page, and so has it been ever since. Later I removed the feed but never remembered to change the cache settings back. Still, when looking at the source code, it has shown that caching is working on front page. Curious.
Still this doesn’t explain the fact that the error occured only after the WP update. Something must have triggered it since there were no errors if W3TC was disabled. The underlying cause is a mystery to me.
Answer to your question: No, I have never used the edge mode, and yes I will look into the api key warning, etc.
So, thank you. Could I buy you a beer/coffee via PayPal?
