In reply to: Comment & ‘Edit This’ Cookies vs. FirefoxThanks for the explanation. I understand how this causes WordPress to not recognise cookies except where the *exact same* address is used. What I do not understand is why the blog address options are automatically modified.
I’m sure this wasn’t a problem before 1.2.1, so is this a new feature (unique hashing)?
Also, my workaround seems to work; I haven’t had either of the URI options changed automatically, and it’s been a number of days. My guess is that they only change automatically if you have “www.” in them.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: XHTML valid <ul> etcIf you are viewing the markup using Firefox’s “View selection source”, be aware that it displays an interpretation rather than the exact source. For example, if you do a
tag, with “View selection source”, it will display as <br> whatever. That might be your problem, apologies if it’s not.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Script Errors in I.E.Yes your site has some JavaScript errors. Load your site in Firefox and go Tools>JavaScript Console, and it provides a detailed log of the problems.

In reply to: Comment & ‘Edit This’ Cookies vs. FirefoxIt sounds like a good idea Joen, but I guess you’ll have to wait a few days to see if it changes.
Be aware that visitors who still go to your blog using “www.” in front of the domain won’t have access to the cookies features. That’s what my .htaccess mod sorts, and hopefully the URIs won’t change back, as they no longer contain “www.”.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Comment & ‘Edit This’ Cookies vs. FirefoxI’ve written a blog post about this problem, which details how to use .htaccess to redirect all users coming to your site with “www.” to the same address with “www.” removed.

In reply to: User accountsThe problem with WordPress and and it not recognising me as the admin is very strange. I upgraded my local WordPress version today, and it doesn’t have the same issues. I’ve checked the config files and everything appears to be OK.
If no-one can shed light on this, I might just overwrite all the files again and see if that helps.
