Hi Tao – As requested here is my feedback

the text is a little hard to read on the darker textured background
the top logo (I think it is a logo) does not look like a clean image. It looks pixelated and again, I am not sure what it is.

It is not bad for a start, but I find it a little boring overall.

no i understand what you are saying and I have seen some of those articles. I did not mean traditional “thumbnails” which are small. I mean larger rectangles or squares (like 250 by 250 or 300 by 300) but not the huge rectangles you have now. You could have 2 next to each other instead of one huge rectangle. Does that make sense.
I’ll go back and look at the article and ideas now

your portfolio page is nice, but lots of scrolling and big blocks of page sections. i hope that makes sense. personally i would love to see smaller thumbnails of the portfolio options – maybe 250 by 250 images that then lead to the other sites in your portfolio. Just a thought, and as you said it is very subjective.

it looks nice and you seem to be filling it up with a lot of information. One thought – your top image is nice but it is massive and really takes up a ton a page real estate. This forces any viewer to have to scroll down a ways to get to the info. You might want to make it smaller (not as tall) if possible. Just a thought.

I am not sure if that link takes me to a blog or not, but what I do come to is hard to read. small font on black background. strange…

first off I think the topic is a very good one. there are already some similar sites out there and I think there are always young energetic restaurant employees willing to blog, complain, review, rant, etc. So good topic and good domain name.

Some of the images in your posts are running into the words in the article. Add a hspace=”10″ (or whatever size) to the end of the image code . That will give your images a nice buffer and not run into the letters.

I like it in general. It is clean and laid out nicely.
I would suggest the following:
On the review pages have a picture of the phone being reviewed.
Also I would quickly get up about 10-15 reviews of all of the current Blackberry models available so your site will have immediate credibility as a resource. Those pages alone could get high SEO ranking and pull a lot of people to your blog.

jernst – i like it. I have had 3 forums that were black background with white lettering and there will always be people who just dont like it. oh well. if you like it then keep it for a while. i do have some ideas though. 1) make the font a little bigger and spread out the text lines a little. 2) use an easy to read round font like Arial, which on top of making the font size a little larger, make it easier to read.
Your images look very vivid on the black background which is good. keep adding those to your posts because your eye is drawn directly to them.

I like it. the black background for the L and R columns makes the text in the middle very easy to read as you scroll down. the top header logo is colorful and interesting and you have the ability to make some of those images dynamic or active links.

Paul_mcnelis – thanks for the positive feedback. I went back and forth with the fixed width thing and looked at it on about 10 different size screens and it fit perfectly on all of them so far in IE or FF.

I like it and I think it is a good start, but it seems to be missing something to me from a design angle. Maybe it is just the one post on the home page or the wide open white spaces. I think it is very nice and a great start. I would definitely suggest taking advantage of adding the pages and more info.
