Thanks for the code – but *where* do I make those modifications? (I’ve never modified css directly to a plugin before…)

In reply to: [WordPress Simple Shopping Cart] Customize the Note to Seller Textfollowup: I just got off the phone with PayPal’s business support and the guy I talked to IMMEDIATELY knew of the problem (a good sign). He indicated that this is something the engineers are taking seriously to correct – although he could not give me a time frame.
so….

In reply to: [WordPress Simple Shopping Cart] Customize the Note to Seller TextI was just about to post my own question, asking this same thing, when I ran across this thread.
Any ideas yet? On my site, we hold an event where people can register as an individual, a couple, and with kids. We need to get the First/Last Name for EACH person being registered.
I know I can just put text in the page telling people to “please send email to <link> giving us the names of each person you are registering”, but that is kind of an ugly kludge. Not to mention that there is no guarantee that everyone will actually DO it.

In reply to: [WordPress Simple Shopping Cart] Item with a ZERO priceWhether paypal is “meant” to do a $0 transaction or not, it works. The benefit (to me) is that it keeps the items they purchase and the items I simply need to know about together in a single place (the paypal invoice). From the looks of the squeeze form, not only would have I have to dramatically increase the complexity of the site by installing a full blown e-commerce plugin, it would split the information into multiple locations.

In reply to: [WordPress Simple Shopping Cart] Item with a ZERO priceActually, setting the price to .00000001 DID work! PayPal shows the item, with a $0 price.

In reply to: [WordPress Simple Shopping Cart] How to Collect Additional Text InputI was REALLY hoping there was a way to do this as well. For my needs, I have an “event registration page”, where I need to get the First, Last name for each person being registered for the event.
IF this isn’t something I can do directly in the plug-in, is there a way they can enter the information on PayPal when they pay for the items. Ie – a ‘shipping information’ box?
I DID do a search on this before I asked the question, but apparently my question asking skills were ebbing low as I just saw this:
“Price for Variable Items” posted just 3 days ago.Apparently someone else asked the same question.
Which means, this is a feature which is BADLY needed… ??

In reply to: [Events Made Easy] Is this the right plugin for my event?Well drats. Is there another plugin I should look at for doing this?
Josiah S. Carberry: No, we do not have a “blog”. It is what I would call a typical “club website”. Specifically, it’s
https://www.bvbeeks.org/ikookmaar: Thanks, I’ll give it a look
caimin_nwl: Strangely enough, we used the “Simple PayPal plugin” last year – and it ALMOST did everything we wanted. If that could do it, I am surprised that a plugin designed for events would be that much more complicated.
We don’t want to make the commit to a particular class – just get an idea. I guess surveymonkey it is…
I’m not sure what information you are looking for. It’s a single event (the “all day beekeeper school”). But during the day we have 7 different classrooms where we have classes that run from an hour to 3 hours. People look at the catalog in the morning and decide which class they want to attend during the course of the day.
I would like to get an idea of which classes people think they want to attend.
If EM doesn’t do this, I could always just re-direct them to a very simple “surveymonkey” to accomplish what I’m looking for – but I suspect that the volume of responses I get from a re-directed sight won’t be as good as one on the registration page itself.
