Thanks. I updated to WP 5.1, and Jetpack works!

Never mind… I figured it out for myself.

The next time I added an image, I chose left-alignment in the WP “Add Media” interface. It works perfectly as intended.

Then I deleted the centered one and tried again, making sure to select “centered” alignment. It still displays n the left.

    A Related Issue?

The first time I tested this plugin (yesterday), there was an option that previewed how it would look on desktop and mobile devices. I made multiple edits to suit both layouts. Now I cannot find it!

Very confused and ever-so hopeful for a solution, Anna

As a test, I followed the same steps for the related site described above. As before, the “image” checkbox was enabled as a Menu Screen Option as soon as the plugin was activated.

Even so, no interface for uploading an image appears in the menu interface. The result was the same as before, even when all other plugins were deactivated.

Along the way, I clicked the “opt in” button at <history.typeheritage.com>. Since there was another button labelled “skip,” I had chosen it before.

Is the “opt in” choice *necessary* for function of this plugin? If so, the instructions do not explain it, and doing so made no difference.

If I can get it to work in the way I need, I still hope for a happy ending…

    Hi Rui,

Thanks for your prompt response! Menu Image is the only active plugin. It has appeared in the menu screen options since I first installed it. I have cleared the cache and the browser cache.

Even so, I see nothing like the screen shot shown in the WP description. There is nothing new or different. This plugin could be *very* useful for my needs, so I hope there is a solution!

    Fingers crossed, Anna

P.P.S. This is the site Home Page: https://history.typeheritage.com/

I suspect a plugin conflict… Have you identified any in your troubleshooting experience?

This plugin has the potential to solve a super-important roadblock in my navigation system. Specifically, I need to display the “Privacy Policy” image linked to the related page in a menu that works equally well for mobile and desktop/laptop devices.

A thousand thanks for your suggestions, Anna

    PHP version 7.2.7

    Thanks again!

To isolate the problem, I copied passages one-at-a-time into a new page:

    https://history.typeheritage.com/test-preface/

By doing so, I narrowed it down to this:

    <a title="William Morris, Arts and Crafts Movement" href="https://history.typeheritage.com/wp-content/uploads/Permanent/Chapter.jpg">Morris’ <em>Troy</em>#<em>=Chaucer</em># types</a>.

Including the above text invoked the Error Message: “Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.”

Everything before and after the problem area displayed perfectly, and the link worked.

    For the Record

Minor text and link edits solved the problem. I hope my strategy will help others who suffer the same WordPress woes!

    WP 5.0.7, Classic Editor
    Suffusion Child Theme, 4.4.9
Browsers, latest versions of Firefox and Chrome

    I have tried these strategies:

    1) Restore the oldest revision—there are four including an auto-save. Conclusion: This page used to display normally; suddenly it doesn’t.

    2) Delete the page and create a new one from my text file of the code view. Interesting: after deleting the page, the revision history persists.

In both scenarios, the same error message is return when attempting to update or publish:

“Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.”

This page is important because it is the preface for 10 child pages. All of the child pages work perfectly. All other pages, widgets, menus, etc. work perfectly.

What can I do to fix this problem?

A thousand thanks for helping me, Anna

    Hi Vishal,

Many thanks for your prompt response! My preferred browser is Firefox, where I am signed in. I use Chrome [usually not signed in] to view content as it appears to site visitors.

This time, I signed in to Chrome and tried to update the page. The resulting error message reads: Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.

    Now what?

Thanks again for trying to help me, Anna

P.S. I CAN save other pages, menu and widget settings, etc. at the same site. For some crazy reason, THIS page is different?

Silly me… I hadn’t enabled “Expand Sub Menus on Parent Item Click.” Please pardon me for bothering you, Anna

    Thread Starter Type Historian

    (@type-historian)

    Been there—done that! As explained:

I need to organize menu entries under headings without links (as in the sidebar). Following instructions in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/remove-the-link-from-parent-menu-item/, I set up the heading URLs as #.

Result. When hovering the heading, the cursor changes to a hand as expected. The bad news is that clicking the headings reveals no sub-menu entries.

Please help me to fix this problem, Anna
