I have absolutely no experience with mIRC or programs alike, but am going to try this out.
The thought behind my idea was a bit more laid back… no need for real time communication, just a forum with a different subject, namely stuff not related to WP, though filled by people who use WP.
I still am thinking about getting a domain like wp-lounge.com and just set it up, but I think the barrier will be to high if it is not directly related to this wonderful place (support-forum that is)…

I will give it another thought. Nice to see this conversation though.

Why not add 1 more option in the “main theme”: “off-topic” or “WP-lounge” (like the webhostingtalk WHT-lounge

yes… and it would even be more nice, if you could login in that certain forum with the same registration as used here…
That is the main reason why I would not want to set it up… I think it should be related to wp.org

I might have been a bit clearer… but you understood what I said…

I see it like: Hey, I think I am going on a summer holiday to Nebraska and TechGnome is a nice guy in helping people out with WordPress… so maybe he can give me some nice directions what to visit where in his neighbourhood! I’ll drop him a line and see what he can do…

Or just to discuss some trend in tech-land that has nothing to do with WP, but affects a bunch of us…
