In reply to: [AMP] Still have /amp/ URLs after deleting the pluginOh yes, forgot to add: Another crazy thing I am seeing is that Google Analytics (which I included right in plugin files in amp-post-template-actions.php) still tracks!!!
How could it work without the plugin and even track visitors??
[ No bumping please. ]

In reply to: [DW Minion] Awesome but Contact 7 doesn't work with this themeJust wanted to add I eventually received all emails, but it’s strange why IE and Firefox would have such a delay when using DW Minion + Contact 7. Maybe nothing to worry about, thanks.
Perhaps conflict with other anti-spam plugins?

In reply to: Controls Gone MissingHi Jonna,
there must be some type of conflict either with your theme or with one of your plugins. Editing HTML definitely won’t cut it. You can do one of the two things:
1. You can either downgrade by installing previous version of WordPress
https://www.ads-software.com/download/release-archive/
2. You can try deactivating / deleting your plugins one by one and see if that brings functionality back. If plugins are not the reason for this mess, then it must be your theme. Try switching to another theme or deleting your present theme altogether.
No 2 is better than No 1 as you always should keep your WP updated to the latest version.

In reply to: Edit Page has slowed down greatlyThere could be difference between hosts. I ran WordPress on one host and it was fine. Not super fast but fine. Then I moved to another host and was surprised that my WordPress admin area appeared noticeably faster.
If your WP slowed after move perhaps you should consider moving again.

In reply to: Fatal ErrorI don’t know how to upload an unedited version
– download original unedited theme from author’s site
– download FTP tool, like FileZilla, you can do that here
https://filezilla-project.org/download.php/
– unzip your theme
– connect FileZilla to your server
– using FileZilla, open files stored at your host and navigate to wp-themes in one window and your computer’s files in another and navigate where you have unzipped version of your theme
– upload your theme. You can either overwrite the edited misbehaving files or delete them first and then uploadIf you don’t know how to use FileZilla you can google tutorials or check out YouTube. There are plenty.
Don’t despair! ??

In reply to: [bizXpress Business-Building Plugin For WordPress] NOT A PLUGIN!bkbiloxi, I don’t know what you are talking about. It’s a place to review plugins so I gave my review. I don’t know why would you insult me by calling loser. You don’t even know me.
I gave 5 stars reviews and 1 star reviews to other plugins before but nobody came and insulted me like you did. If this developer has a bunch of haters then one has to wonder. I mean really wonder.
Your comment is not relevant, very offensive and weird to be honest.

In reply to: [bizXpress Business-Building Plugin For WordPress] NOT A PLUGIN!Jan,
I mean exactly what I said. I actually see value in their tool if it proves to work. Some people, including WordPress users, could indeed benefit. But I also see an attempt to take an advantage of free WordPress plugin directory to sell a product.
Now don’t misunderstand me. I don’t want to argue. I looked at your profile and see you have been member for 8 years and are a moderator. That is wonderful! Without people like you WordPress would not be what it is now. But I still want to point out that this “plugin” violates guidelines. Please refer to point 5 here

In reply to: [bizXpress Business-Building Plugin For WordPress] NOT A PLUGIN!I don’t need their support Jan. In my understanding plugin is something that adds functionality TO your WordPress installation, not just adds a page with bunch of links to limited trial for 14 days.

In reply to: Building WordPress on IP Address – Help with URLsOkay, a lot of time passed and I will answer this myself ??
1. yes, you have to change IP address to actual domain name in PHPMYAdmin twice (both WordPress address and Site URL)
2. It only means when you are transferring WordPress site by downloading database backup and uploading to your new host, you need to sign in to your WP and save permalinks again (to be done before Step 1).
That’s it!

In reply to: [bizXpress Business-Building Plugin For WordPress] Ridiculous. It is ridiculous because it looks like the author simply used this as a way to market to large WordPress community.
The trial itself is limited, you don’t get access to ALL features even for 14 days. Everything is offsite, so it’s not specific to WordPress. You could use this for any site. I think the only reason why they pretend to be a WordPress plugin is because it gives them free access to WordPress users.
They shouldn’t be in WordPress plugin directory at all.

In reply to: School new websiteHaha I understand! I did some client work too and sometimes they want these funny things. There are plugins like Hello bar, which makes your message visible without looking like you are back to 90s ?? There is free and paid option. It stays in front of their eye balls as they scroll. Plus it will be on every page
I believe I’ve seen other plugins that do same thing but now can’t remember how it was called. It was by Maxi Blog Press.
I would probably install WordPress in a folder, block search engine access to it (for duplicate content issues) and transfer all pages and solve template/theme issues. Then I would get rid of Joomla and all its traces and simply copy index.php and .htaccess from WP folder to root directory.
It’s only a suggestion, I can’t know what exactly you are doing. Nor I am familiar with Joomla. But WordPress can be installed in a folder and then if you just copy index.php and .htaccess to root folder it will work. It’s also a good security practice.
And don’t forget to unblock search engines at the end if you follow this suggestion.
